The Vols have come on fairly late for Rawlins-Kibonge, who was already being heavily pursued by Washington State, Oklahoma, Arizona State, California and Colorado, among others. Tennessee, however, is the first SEC offer on the table.
Rawlins-Kibonge has not been playing organized football long, but is freakishly athletic at 6-foot-7, 240-pounds. The 247Sports Composite rates him as a 4-star and the No. 16 strong-side defensive end in the country. Rawlins-Kibonge is also listed as the No. 2 overall prospect in the state of Oregon.
Linebackers coach Brian Niedermeyer is listed as Rawlins-Kibonge’s primary recruiter.
