Tennessee offered a scholarship to 2027 edge prospect Chris Whitehead.
“Extremely blessed to receive an offer from the University of Tennessee,” Whitehead said.
The 6-foot-5, 210-pound edge prospect is from Lloyd C. Bird High School in Chesterfield, Virginia. Whitehead is being recruited by Steven Ruzic.
Whitehead is ranked as the No. 60 prospect in the class of 2027. He also ranks as the No. 7 edge defender and No. 1 player in Virginia, according to 247Sports.
The Vols are the only Southeastern Conference school to offer a scholarship to Whitehead.
Whitehead has scholarship offers from Tennessee, Old Dominion, James Madison, East Carolina, Appalachian State, Penn State and Florida State.
