Tennessee has had a successful recruiting period since the shutdown due to COVID-19, adding players to a highly-rated 2021 class while also getting in early on younger prospects.
The Vols offered South Carolina strong side defensive end D.J. Aiken, giving him his first major college football scholarship offer.

Aiken is a rising junior at Bluffton High School in South Carolina, and has good size at 6 feet, 5 inches and 265-pounds. Tennessee defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley is the lead recruiter for Aiken.
Ansley has been the Vols’ ace recruiter during the 2021 cycle, helping Tennessee to a class ranked No. 3 in the country by 247Sports. Tennessee does not yet have any players committed to the 2022 recruiting class.
