Gonzales is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound defensive back that has been gaining traction in the last month. Just since the start of April, LSU, Miami, Kentucky and Tennessee have all offered Gonzales.
Despite an impressive offer list that also includes Georgia Tech, Arkansas and Louisville, Gonzales does not yet have a rating on the 247Sports Composite. The lack of spring practice due to the COVID-19 outbreak has allowed college coaches to spend more time on recruiting boards, which can lead players that are not on the top of many lists to be exposed.
Tennessee currently has nine players committed to the 2021 recruiting class, with one cornerback in 3-star Jay Jones from Demopolis, Ala.
