Tennessee is in the mix for 2021 wide receiver Jaquez Smith, as the Vols have made the cut for the final six schools in the 4-star’s recruitment.
My brain it cannot process failure. It will not process failure. Because if I sit there and have to face myself and tell myself, You’re a failure.I think that’s almost worse than death…TOP 6🤟🏽#GoDawgs #GoVols #RollTide #GoCats #GoBuffs #GoGophers pic.twitter.com/KqG973UrF2

Smith is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver from Westlake High School in Atlanta Ga., who rates as the No. 27 wide receiver in the country on the 247Sports Composite.
Tennessee will have to compete with the in-state Georgia Bulldogs, along with Alabama and Kentucky. Colorado and Minnesota are the only non-SEC schools in the mix. Colorado head coach Mel Tucker was formerly the defensive coordinator at Georgia and familiar with the recruiting landscape.
Georgia could be the team to beat in this scenario, but Tennessee will have time to try and sway Smith before he signs after his senior year in high school.
