Tennessee is ‘setting the bar’ for 2024 prospect Danny Okoye

Tennessee is setting the bar for 2024 prospect Danny Okoye.

Four-star edge prospect Danny Okoye has emerged as a top target for the Vols in the class of 2024.

Tennessee is one of Okoye’s top 10 schools for his commitment.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound edge prospect is from NOAH Homeschool in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Okoye discussed his recruitment with Vols Wire.

“Tennessee is definitely setting the bar recruiting-wise,” Okoye said. “I love the energy from them and the environment that is up there.”

Okoye has built a relationship with outside linebackers coach Mike Ekeler and defensive coordinator Tim Banks.

“Coach Banks and coach Ek are friends of mine, even apart from football,” Okoye said. “It’s been great going through the recruiting journey with them.”

Okoye is the No. 168 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He ranks as the No. 10 edge prospect and No. 1 player in Oklahoma, according to On3 Sports industry rankings.

He attended Tennessee’s junior day on Jan. 14 and scheduled an unofficial visit on June 23. Okoye plans to announce his commitment by November.
