Tennessee included in top 5 for tight end Hudson Wolfe.

Tennessee is in the running to land a highly touted in-state prospect: tight end Hudson Wolfe. The Hardin County High School product posted his top five on his Twitter account over the weekend.

The Vols join Ohio State, Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama in the final five programs.

Wolfe is one of the top 2021 prospects in the state, standing 6 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 245 pounds. The 247Sports Composite rates Wolfe as a four-star prospect, the No. 9 tight end in his class and the No. 5 overall player in Tennessee.

The tight end position has not brought a lot of pass-catching production for Tennessee since Jeremy Pruitt was hired. Former top JUCO prospect Dominick Wood-Anderson is moving on to the NFL draft after two seasons with the program, and the 2020 season will be a chance to break in some unproven talent in the tight ends room for the Vols.

Wolf is a priority for Tennessee, and the Vols hope to take his recruitment down to the wire while competing with top programs around the country. Brian Niedermeyer is Wolfe’s primary recruiter, despite having made the switch from tight ends coach to overseeing inside linebackers in the offseason.

Niedermeyer is one of Tennessee’s best recruiters and a former 247Sports National Recruiter of the Year.
