Tennessee joins a list of historic Power 5 schools including Auburn, Florida, Miami and Oregon with a chance to sign the 3-star prospect. Smith is a 5-foot-8, 190-pound rising senior at Miami Palmetto High School that is labeled a wide receiver, but listed as the No. 2 all-purpose back in his class per the 247Sports Composite.
The versatile weapon on offense scored 13 touchdowns in 2019, and UT is locked in a battle to get him out of state, but will still have to compete with Auburn and Oregon if Smith chooses to go away from home.
Ace recruiter and inside linebackers coach Brian Niedermeyer is the primary recruiter for Smith.
