De’Rail Sims has been hired as Tennessee’s running backs coach.
“Tennessee is hiring Cincinnati’s De’Rail Sims as its new running backs coach, sources tell 247Sports,” Matt Zenitz said.
Sims served in the same capacity at Cincinnati from 2022-23. He was also running backs coach at Louisville (2021) and East Carolina (2018-20).
The Union, South Carolina native played at Pikeville from 2006-08.
Sims replaces Jerry Mack who joined Jacksonville in the NFL. Mack served as the Vols’ running backs coach from 2021-23.
Tennessee will conclude spring practices with its annual Orange & White Game on April 13 at Neyland Stadium with limited capacity. Approximately 10,000 fans will be in attendance due to construction.
