KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee has a proud football program rich in tradition and history, and over the years many great players have played on Rocky Top.

Vols Wire looks at which players wore each number for the Volunteers.

No. 43

The number goes back to 1937 in Tennessee’s storied football history. It was first worn by Charles Fields.

Fields, a guard, donned the number for one season.

Later, it was worn by punter Matt Darr, who has played in the NFL with Miami and Buffalo.
