KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee has a football program rich in history and tradition, and over the years many great players have played on Rocky Top.
Vols Wire looks at which players wore each number for the Volunteers.
No. 24
The number goes back more than seven centuries at UT. It was first worn by Gerald Hendricks, an end for the Vols, in 1937.
It would later be worn by Aaron Hayden, Shawn Bryson, Eric Gordon and Todd Kelly Jr.
Kelly began his career with the Big Orange wearing No. 6 but switched to pay tribute to a budding Knoxville Area star. Zaevion Dobson, a Fulton High School player who tragically lost his life shielding friends from gunfire.
