Tennessee basketball lands another big commitment in Jahmai Mashack

The momentum continues for Rick Barnes and Tennessee on the recruiting trail.

Rick Barnes and Tennessee basketball have been on an undeniable recruiting run as of late, and the Vols added to it on Tuesday with a commitment from 4-star forward Jahmai Mashack in the 2021 recruiting class.

“I chose a program that lies with my faith, my willingness to work and with a culture that will allow me to be my full potential,” Mashack said in his commitment video. “That place is the University of Tennessee.”

A senior at Etiwanda High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California, Mashack is rated the No. 16 small forward in his class, and No. 6 player in California. A 6-foot-5, 190-pound lengthy wing player, Mashack stands out due to his defense and athleticism.

He committed to the Vols over schools such as Arizona, Arkansas, Oklahoma and more.

The commitment gives Tennessee its second pledge of the 2021 class, joining 5-star point guard Kennedy Chandler.
