Tennessee baseball receives commitment from 2021 pitcher

Tennessee baseball receives commitment from 2021 pitcher.

Right-handed pitcher Grant Cherry from Vestavia Hills, Alabama announced his college destination on Twitter last week. The 2021 prospect will be attending Tennessee to play college baseball under head coach Tony Vitello.

Cherry has a fastball that reaches into the 90s, according to his profile on perfectgame.org. The Alabama native also plays right field and is a right-handed batter.

The 2020 Tennessee baseball season was canceled along with all other spring NCAA sports due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Cherry will be a senior at Vestavia Hills High School beginning this fall, and is able to join the Vols for the 2022 season.
