Cherry has a fastball that reaches into the 90s, according to his profile on perfectgame.org. The Alabama native also plays right field and is a right-handed batter.
The 2020 Tennessee baseball season was canceled along with all other spring NCAA sports due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Cherry will be a senior at Vestavia Hills High School beginning this fall, and is able to join the Vols for the 2022 season.
