Te-Hina Paopao became Oregon’s most recent gold medal winner as she helped Team USA win the U19 World Cup with a 70-52 victory over Australia.

The Americans went a perfect 3-0 in the group phase of the tournament before going through the 16-team bracket phase to go 7-0.

As for Paopao, the Ducks point guard averaged nine points and 4.6 assists over in Hungary. She scored 10 points and dished out five assists in the gold medal game. Her best game came against Chinese Taipei as Paopao scored 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the Round of 16 where Team USA won 129-45.

In the seven games, Paopao went 22-for-52 (42.3 percent) from the floor, including making 11of her 27 three-point attempts.

Paopao is completely healed from her leg injury that cut her freshman season short in Eugene. But now she is looking towards more of a normal sophomore season with the Ducks with fans in the stands of Matthew Knight Arena eager to watch her play in person.
