Tee Higgins wants to play through injury to help Bengals out of tough spot

Tee Higgins wants to put it on the line for his teammates.

Cincinnati Bengals veteran leaders are looking to set the tone this week as they try to bounce back after the devastating loss to the Titans.

Accountability and getting right on the little things has been a theme all week.

But so too has grit and toughing it out.

Joe Burrow has been at the forefront in this regard while playing through his calf injury. But so too, now, is Tee Higgins, who has at least one fractured rib but intends to see if he can play through the pain.

And his statement when asked about this says it all,

“With the rib injury, it heals on its own. Where the team is right now, I feel like my presence on the field can really help the team,” Higgins said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com. “The next few weeks are huge. Me just going out there, making plays that I know I can make will help the team out.”

We’ll see if Higgins does suit up against the Cardinals, as he’ll have to get the sign-off from trainers and doctors, never mind his own pain tolerance.

But if he does? It would say quite a lot considering he’s taking a big risk while playing on the final year of his deal.
