The Cincinnati Bengals have rookie deals in place for Logan Wilson, Akeem Davis-Gaither, Hakeem Adeniji and Markus Bailey.

One notable name missing, besides Joe Burrow? Tee Higgins.

But that could change in a hurry, as noted by Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com: “Second-rounder Tee Higgins, the Clemson wide receiver, and fifth-round Khalid Kareem, the Notre Dame captain and defensive end, could be in the fold as soon as Wednesday.”

Higgins, whose most common draft comparison was A.J. Green, has been one of the most-hyped aspects of the Cincinnati offseason. Not only was he the first pick of the second round, he has a chance to pair nicely with Burrow and Bengals coaches are hyped Green will serve as Higgins’ mentor.

At this stage, Higgins getting his deal done is a mere formality thanks to the rookie wage scale. Simple logistics of actually getting Higgins in the building at Paul Brown Stadium might be playing a part. Burrow, as well as big-name free agents like Trae Waynes, haven’t signed on the dotted line either.

But the sooner the better for Higgins, whose talent could have him stealing some snaps and targets from Burrow in a hurry.
