Cincinnati Bengals brass hope to have something special with the Joe Burrow-Tee Higgins connection.
Burrow’s clearly on that path, though Higgins — the first pick of the second round this year — is taking a little slower to come along.
The rookie wideout from Clemson had a slight injury this summer and also happens to be competing at one of the deepest spots on the roster.
But he broke onto the field Thursday against the Cleveland Browns and finally gave fans what they want — his first connection with Burrow. Late in the first half and down big, Burrow went on the run and fired off a pass with a high degree of difficulty in the accuracy department, only for Higgins to reliably bring it in and get out of bounds:

Not a bad way to officially start the connection. If Higgins keeps that up, he’s bound to see bigger snap percentages and more targets as the season progresses.
