Teddy Bridgewater unfollows Panthers on Instagram, sets account to private

Despite signing a three-year, $63 million contract last March, it’s obvious he’s fallen out of favor with the front office after a disappointing 2020 season.

At this point, we don’t know who will be starting at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers in 2021. We are pretty sure that it won’t be Teddy Bridgewater, though. Despite signing a three-year, $63 million contract last March, it’s obvious he’s fallen out of favor with the front office after a disappointing 2020 season.

Both team owner David Tepper and coach Matt Rhule have been throwing shade at their starter in their offseason comments. The Panthers were also reported to have tried to send Teddy to the Lions in the Matt Stafford deal that fell through.

Carolina has also been involved in practically every other veteran QB trade discussion, although they were apparently not interested in Carson Wentz.

The latest indication that Bridgewater’s time with the Panthers is nearing an end comes from Instagram, where Bridgewater has unfollowed the team’s official account. He’s also set his account to private.

It’s unfortunate things haven’t worked out for Bridgewater, here. By all accounts, he’s a great guy and teammate and his coming back from the devastating knee injury in 2016 is an inspiring one. Hopefully he will land on his feet and get another opportunity elsewhere.
