Teddy Bridgewater had highest grade on play-action throws in 2019 -PFF

According to Pro Football Focus, he had the highest grade on those throws during the 2019 season.

Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is being slept on going into 2020. While he may not have the pedigree of the guy who held the job before him, Bridgewater does many things well on the field and is a true competitor at heart. (For example, he’s 31-9 against the spread in his career).

One area Bridgewater thrives in is play action. According to Pro Football Focus, he had the highest grade on those throws during the 2019 season.

This was an admittedly small sample size, as Bridgewater only threw 34 play action passes last year. That said, it’s another good sign that he can be effective if the Panthers build their offense the right way.

Fortunately for Teddy, one of the few things the franchise really got right this offseason was hiring their new playcaller. Offensive coordinator Joe Brady brings a fresh set of eyes and many of the concepts that Bridgewater worked with when he was in New Orleans.
