We have a quarterback trade BEFORE the 2021 NFL draft!
Teddy Bridgewater has been dealt by the Carolina Panthers to the Denver Broncos, and who knows what it could mean for both teams — they have the No. 8 and No. 9 picks in the first round, respectively, so they could STILL take a QB with those selections.
But let’s concentrate on Bridgewater for a sec. The Panthers dealt for Sam Darnold earlier this month, which made Bridgewater expendable.
Does that sound familiar? If not, some smart folks on Twitter reminded us that back in 2018, the New York Jets traded Bridgewater to the New Orleans Saints because they drafted … Sam Darnold!
Wild!
Teddy Bridgewater has been traded twice in his career and both times were because of Sam Darnold.
2018: #Jets trade Bridgewater in training camp after using No. 3 overall pick on Darnold.
2021: #Panthers trade Bridgewater after acquiring Darnold from the #Jets.
