Team USA schedule: Exhibition vs. Australia has been cancelled

Team USA will no longer play Friday’s exhibition against Australia.

With all the uncertainty surrounding Team USA after two players have entered the health and safety protocol, an exhibition matchup against Australia scheduled for Friday has been canceled. On Thursday, Wizards star Bradley Beal was removed from the Olympic squad after entering protocol. It was later reported that Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant has also entered the health and safety protocol.

As we await a replacement for Bradley Beal, players like Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young have expressed their interest on twitter. Young did it in a subliminal, but yet obvious way for Team USA to notice:

Young does have a case after leading a heavily slept on Hawks team to the Eastern Conference Finals. He averaged 28.8 PPG and 9.5 APG on 41% shooting from the field during this playoff run. Of course, Young was battling an ankle injury during the Conference Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. Still, Milwaukee took care of Atlanta in six games.
