Team TGM is poised to defend its IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge GS titles with a pair of new Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 EVOs.

There will be no changes to the driver line-ups for the two-car team, with team owner Ted Giovanis and Hugh Plumb sharing the No.64 Aston Martin, and defending GS class Drivers’ Champion Matt Plumb in the No.46 alongside Paul Holton, who took over from the retired Owen Trinkler after last year’s Daytona event.

In Giovanis’ words: “With the outstanding season we experienced last year, why change anything?”

Kris Wilson will also join Giovanis and Hugh Plumb for the BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona, and the other four-hour endurance race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

“As for our goals, nothing short of a repeat of 2024. We’re looking for more wins and podium finishes but ultimately the championships are the aspiration for the entire team,” Giovanis added.

Team TGM won the GS Teams’ Championship and helped Aston Martin secure the Manufacturers’ crown in the GT4 category.

“2025 will mark TGM’s third season racing the Vantage GT4s, however we will be upgrading to the Evo edition of the car,” Giovanis said. “Last year we found a comfort level with the cars in our sophomore season with Aston Martin. We understood the car’s capabilities and found ways to build on the performance. This season with the Evo, we have the opportunity to build on that success.

“We expect the competition to step up their game in 2025. There are new teams and drivers coming into the series, with new driver combinations in several cars. However, the competition in 2024 was already very tough. This speaks to the unmatched talent in the Michelin Pilot paddock.

“This season we are focused on improving our results race-to-race which won’t be an easy task. On the outside we are not changing much for this race season but inside the team’s desire for wins and commitment to repeating championships is stronger than ever.”

Matt Plumb, who enters 2025 as the joint-record holder for most Pilot Challenge victories alongside KoHR Motorsports’ Billy Johnson, added: “My goal this year, and what is driving everyone at Team TGM, is to repeat the championships in 2025. We know we need to work on our consistency.

“With a 10-race season, we need to make sure we are finishing on the podium as often as possible and top five every race.”
