Every year, each NFL team nominates a member of the team to be their candidate for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. This award is dedicated to those players whose reach extends well beyond the football field and highlights their philanthropic and humanitarian efforts that make this stand out.
This year the Steelers have nominated tight end Vance McDonald. Pittsburgh traded for McDonald just before the start of the 2017 season and while his production on the field might not be elite, the things he does for not only his local community but communities around the world are truly special.
