TCU remains perfect with last-second field goal against Baylor

TCU gets a last-second field goal and remains unbeaten by downing Baylor

TCU faltered on an extra point and 2-point conversion on Saturday. In the end, the special-teams unit gave them a thrilling 29-28 win over Baylor.

The Horned Frogs trailed 28-26 after missing a PAT and a 2-point conversion.

On the final drive, TCU ran the ball on second and third down with no timeouts. The Horned Frogs field-goal unit scrambled onto the field as the clock ticked below 10 seconds.

Griffin Kell, who had hit the upright on a PAT after making 77 in a row, was rock solid from 40 yards on this kick and the Horned Frogs had their 11th win of 2022.

The Big 12 battle was uphill for TCU.

Kell hit the upright after a TCU touchdown in the third quarter gave the Horned Frogs a 20-14 lead.

Baylor came back with a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to take a 28-20 lead.

TCU responded with an Emeri Demercado run from 3 yards to make it 28-26. However, the 2-point conversion attempt was a pass from Max Duggan to Demercado, who was unable to hold on to the throw.

The Horned Frogs have a home game against Iowa State next Saturday, then the Big 12 Championship Game.

A pair of wins and they hope to be locked into the CFP.
