Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan took to social media on Wednesday to announce the team is releasing him.
The announcement was made via the “Bussin’ With The Boys” Twitter, and it was then retweeted by Lewan, who had a short message for Titans fans.
“I hope I did enough to create something all Titan fans can be proud of,” Lewan wrote. “I love you all.”
According to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, the Titans have not closed the door on bringing him back, but if a reunion does occur, it’ll come at a reduced price.

In their announcement of the release of Lewan, the Titans revealed it was with a failed physical designation. Lewan is coming off a torn ACL.
This move to cut Lewan comes as no surprise, as the left tackle has been riddled with a pair of torn ACLs the past three seasons, on top of missing time with other issues. I’d be surprised if he’s brought back, as the Titans simply can’t depend on Lewan for a starting job once again.
The move to cut Lewan saves the team $14.8 million against the cap. If Lewan isn’t brought back, the Titans will have to figure out where to go next to shore up the most important position on the offensive line.
I fully expect one to be taken in the 2023 NFL draft, but free agency and trades are also options.
