Tar Heels land transfer forward Pete Nance

The UNC basketball program has added forward Pete Nance out of the transfer portal after he completed an official visit.

Just a day after his official visit wrapped up in Chapel Hill, former Northwestern forward [autotag]Pete Nance[/autotag] made his decision.

On Saturday, Nance announced that he is committed to North Carolina and will join the Tar Heels for his final year of eligibility. The forward previously spent the past four seasons with Northwestern before deciding to test the NBA draft waters and transfer. Nance’s recruitment has been a bit quiet since he withdrew his name from the NBA draft but a visit to North Carolina sealed the deal for the Tar Heels.

UNC now adds another forward to the roster who is expected to gain valuable minutes.

With Brady Manek gone, UNC is returning four starters from a team that reached the title game a year ago. Now, Nance can help fill that void along with Puff Johnson and Dontrez Styles who are also expected to get key minutes at the forward spot playing alongside Armando Bacot.

As a senior last season, Nance averaged 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
