Tar Heels among teams showing more interest in four-star recruit

The UNC basketball program is showing more interest in a four-star recruit out of the state of North Carolina.

North Carolina continues to put together their recruiting boards for future classes as Hubert Davis and the program look to build on an impressive 2024 class. With 2025 up next, the Tar Heels have offers out and are in the process of visits with recruits.

One in-state recruit is starting to draw more interest from a few top programs as well as ACC teams.

Four-star wide receiver Sadiq White Jr. is a Charlotte, North Carolina native who has collected 5 offers so far. But teams are showing more interest, including North Carolina.

In an interview with Jamie Shaw, White Jr. talked about the teams he’s in contact with the most. He also mentioned that two blue blood programs are expressing interest in him, Duke and North Carolina:

“I’ve heard from Arkansas a good bit, Coach (Ronnie) Brewer and Muss (Eric Musselman),” White said. “Duke and UNC are both starting to express more interest recently.”

It makes sense for both programs to show interest, being an in-state prospect from Charlotte. White Jr. will start taking visits in the Spring and it’s likely UNC at least attempts to get him on campus.

White Jr. is the No. 32 player overall, No. 7 power forward, and No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.
