The UFC’s planned June 27 card just got a little deeper with the addition of a new heavyweight bout.
[autotag]Tanner Boser[/autotag] (17-6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is set to take on [autotag]Philipe Lins[/autotag] (14-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) next month. MMA Junkie confirmed the booking with a person with knowledge of the matchup following an initial report from Combate.com.
The June 27 event is expected to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is likely to air on ESPN and stream on ESPN+.
Boser will be looking to rebound from a loss this past December to Ciryl Gane, who outpointed him at UFC on ESPN+ 23. Prior to that, he won his promotional debut with a unanimous decision over Daniel Spitz at UFC on ESPN 6.
Lins won the PFL’s inaugural heavyweight season in 2018 and a $1 million prize. After being sidelined for more than a year, he signed with the UFC. But earlier this month, he had a four-fight winning streak snapped with a decision loss to Andrei Arlovski.
With the addition, the UFC’s June 27 lineup now includes:
- Dustin Poirier vs. Dan Hooker
- Aspen Ladd vs. Sara McMann
- Viviane Araujo vs. Jennifer Maia
- Alexa Grasso vs. Ji Yeon Kim
- Maurice Greene vs. Gian Villante
- Tanner Boser vs. Philipe Lins
