Soldier Field will be the site of Notre Dame and Wisconsin battling for the first time since 1964. The Irish have the clear advantage in passing, and that will be key in their effort to maintain their perfect in the red zone. They also will want to maintain their upper hands in penalties and turnover margin. Those may not necessarily decide this game, but they can go a long way.
We may not be deep into the season, but the Badgers have been one of the most impressive teams in the country so far. No team is better at rushing defense, first downs against or time of possession. If you want to count the defense’s ability to prevent fourth-down conversations, do so by all means. If you add in the second-best overall defense and the fourth-best defense on third downs, you get an opponent by which victory will not be easy to come by for the Irish.
