Notre Dame is refreshed and ready to go back into battle after a week off. It remains to be seen if the eye-popping victory over USC permanently broke the Irish’s offense out of the funk it had been in.
All we know that some weapons have emerged for the Irish so far this season in spite of numerous established collegiate stars already having been established. One might not always win on talent alone, but it sure helps to have it.
Pittsburgh enters this game with a defense that surely wishes the weekly effort meant a lot more. Despite that unit ranking well nationally in most statistical categories, those only have led to a couple of wins on the year.
Granted, the Panthers were able to do what the Irish couldn’t, which was beat Louisville. Still, this season hasn’t gone how they would have liked.
