Notre Dame’s defense has a scarlet letter after having only 10 players out as Ohio State scored the winning touchdown in the last game. But memes and jokes aside, the unit still is one of the best in the country at what it does. If you look over all the criticism it deservedly got for such a big lapse in the biggest moment, several high national rankings remain. Hopefully, the defense can have a performance that will everyone forget what happened.
Duke’s offense has been pretty good so far as it hasn’t scored fewer than 28 points through four games. One could argue that the Blue Devils haven’t really played anybody yet, but they crushed Clemson in their opener, so that would be pretty flimsy. We’re about to find out how good this offense is against a defense like the Irish’s. If they can solve that, they’ll really be in business.
