UFC Fight Night 224 fighters took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay, a program that continued after the UFC’s deal with Venum.

LONDON – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 224 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $225,000.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

UFC Fight Night 224 took place at the The 02. The entire card streamed on ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2241 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,500; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

There were a number of fighters who turned in solid performances at UFC 286, but who stood out among the rest down the card?

London was treated to a number of exciting moments and competitive battles throughout UFC 286.

The main event title fight rematch that saw [autotag]Leon Edwards[/autotag] turn away [autotag]Kamaru Usman[/autotag] for the second straight time closed the show on a high note for the local audience. UFC 286 video: Yanal Ashmoz mid-air punch leads to woozy Sam Patterson grappling referee Marc Goddard

Officials rushed to aide Sam Patterson as the stunned fighter grappled with Marc Goddard after a brutal Yanal Ashmoz knockout.

A brutal knockout on the UFC 286 prelims left one semi-conscious fighter attempting to grapple with referee Marc Goddard.

[autotag]Yanal Ashmoz[/autotag] entered enemy territory an underdog at UFC 286 and he exited with a nasty knockout added to his highlight reel. In 75 seconds, Ashmoz (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) finished [autotag]Sam Patterson[/autotag] (10-2-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with punches to pick up his first promotional win. The event took place Saturday at The O2 in London.

After catching a Patterson leg kick, Ashmoz landed a two-punch combination on his mid-air opponent. Patterson crashed to the canvas and was OK for a slight window until Ashmoz pounded consciousness out of him. Goddard dove in to save Patterson, right as he went out cold.

As Ashmoz celebrated his victory as a +240 underdog (on average, per BestFightOdds), Patterson struggled to regain his bearings. As commission officials and medical staff attended to Patterson, the woozy fighter grabbed hold of Goddard in what appeared to be a clinch attempt. Eventually, Patterson came to.

The stoppage was criticized by the broadcast, as commentator Jon Anik spoke highly of Goddard’s typical officiating – but said he thought the leash was too long on this particular stoppage.

Israel’s Ashmoz kicks off his UFC career in style and remains undefeated. Saturday’s knockout was the fourth of his career. Ashmoz trains under former Khabib Nurmagomedov coach Murat Keshtov.

Patterson, who signed with the UFC after a Dana White’s Contender Series win in 2022, loses for the first time since November 2017. Both of his professional losses have come by knockout.
