Yale at Colorado odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Yale at Colorado odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Yale Bulldogs (6-0) and Colorado Buffaloes (3-3) meet Sunday in Boulder with tip at the CU Events Center at 3 p.m. ET (Pac-12 Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Yale vs. Colorado odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Yale has played a relatively easy schedule so far, but it returns to the floor Sunday after covering a 1-point spread with ease Tuesday against Vermont. The Bulldogs crushed the Catamounts 73-44 and held Vermont to a 35.3% shooting mark from the floor. The Bulldogs have allowed a 33.2% mark overall, and that ranks 5th in the nation.

The Buffaloes have not played since last Sunday when they were upset 68-55 as a 2.5-point favorite against Boise State. That game was part of the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Colorado was also upset by UMass 66-63 earlier in that tournament. The Buffs now return to home hardwood where they have not played since Nov. 7.

Yale at Colorado picks and predictions

Prediction

Colorado 73, Yale 63

Moneyline

Colorado is the technical lean, but only at a midpoint closer to -350. PASS.

Against the spread

Two of Yale’s wins are against non-NCAA-I foes. A younger Colorado squad is back at home after a rough trip to South Carolina.

Peg the Buffs as being due better numbers with some shooting regression. COLORADO -8.5 (-105) is the small lean, worth perhaps a partial-unit play.

Over/Under

Colorado plays a fast brand of ball, and a decent number of CU looks from the charity stripe can be expected. But Yale matches up well on the boards which should snuff out quite a few 2nd-chance opportunities. And with a late lead, the reins may well be tighter-than-normal on this young Colorado team looking to get rolling the right way heading onto December.

Add in a dash of post-Thanksgiving hangover play, and the UNDER 138.5 (-110) is worth a play.
