Huskers getting visit from top JUCO basketball star this month

Nebraska basketball will have an important visitor on campus later this month

Class of 2025 junior college player Xavier Edmonds is visiting the Nebraska basketball program later this month. Edmonds has become a sought-after player on the recruiting trail. He averaged 14 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game in a little over 20 minutes a game for Salt Lake City Community College.

This recruitment has picked up over the last couple of months. He has received offers from LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Missouri, and USC, among other programs. He received an offer from Nebraska on July 13.

Edmonds measures and at 6-foot-9, and can play both the power forward and center positions.

Currently, the 2025 Nebraska basketball recruiting class has one commitment in Quentin Rhymes. Edmonds would give them a versatile scorer who can also crash the boards. His junior college experience certainly adds to his profile.

Nebraska will hold the Red-White scrimmage on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CT as the new season begins.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have offered a scholarship to a top junior college player. Xavier Edmonds is a class of 2025 power forward from Salt Lake (Utah) C.C.

Last season, he appeared in 32 games, averaging 20.8 minutes per appearance.  Edmonds also averaged 14.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game.

The 6-foot-8 power forward shot 55% from the field, 31% from the three-point line, and 66% from the free-throw line. The California native was a three-star prospect coming out of high school in 2023.
