11 celebs at WNBA Finals Game 5, including Angel Reese in a sweet Liberty-Lynx jersey

Angel Reese had a TIME at the WNBA Finals.

On Sunday, a winner-take-all WNBA Finals Game 5 at Barclays featured many celebrities, including one of Liberty’s biggest fans, Jason Sudeikis.

There is nowhere else a bunch of famous folks would rather be than in Brooklyn to see the New York Liberty host the Minnesota Lynx. New York’s ce-liberty row was full of well-known faces, like Spike Lee and Jason Sudeikis, for the WNBA’s last game of the season.

Everyone seemingly wanted a glimpse of the fantastic Liberty-Lynx series — Who could blame them? — but Angel Reese appeared to be one of the happiest celebs in the arena. Angel was courtside at Barclays with an awesome Liberty-Lynx combo jersey she had custom-made for the occasion.

Here’s 10 other celebs who pulled up for Game 5:

Angel Reese wore an awesome Liberty-Lynx combo jersey courtside at the WNBA Finals

Angel Reese and her jersey were living their best lives at the WNBA Finals.

Angel Reese wore a Liberty-Lynx double jersey for the WNBA Finals, and we’re totally here for it.

With Angel’s season complete, she’s got some time on her hands to prepare for next season and to watch the WNBA Finals. Reese has been seemingly keeping tabs on all the good games and recently decided to support her fellow W colleagues and future Unrivaled pals, Breanna Stewart and Napheeesa Collier, with a double jersey.

On Friday, Reese asked who could make her a Stewie and Phee jersey by Sunday. Thankfully, artist and designer Jocelyn Hu quickly came to the rescue and delivered just in time. Reese wore her unique jersey courtside on Sunday as she watched the Liberty host the Lynx at Barclays.

11 posh pregame outfits from WNBA Finals Game 5, including Ellie the Elephant’s puffer vest

Ellie is ALWAYS gonna bring the FIRE fits.

Welcome to For The Win’s WNBA fashion roundup, Finals edition, where we bring you all the divine fashion from Game 5 at Barclays.

What a ride it’s been the entire regular season and through the playoffs. We’re so happy we were able to bring you some of the best fits the WNBA has to offer. The Finals have allowed us to revel in the fits a bit longer, but THIS IS IT. And it’s only fitting that the W’s best mascot upstaged everyone — again.

Ellie the Elephant showed up in Game 1 with a custom jacket, and then she humbly let the gworls have it for a bit. Breanna Stewart’s cloud suit and fireworks jacket took over for Games 2 and 4. Then, Courtney Williams owned the runway for Game 3 with her awesome grunge-style pants. But Ellie wouldn’t let Game 5 pass by without bringing some of her best heat. Of course, she arrived in the most New York way possible — wearing a seafoam puffer vest and matching skirt combo.

Former Notre Dame guard one win away from first WNBA championship

Good luck in Game 5, Kayla!

[autotag]Kayla McBride[/autotag] has experienced a lot in her 11 WNBA seasons, including four All-Star selections, one of which came this year. But the former Notre Dame guard has yet to call herself a champion. That could be about to change.

McBride and the Minnesota Lynx forced a decisive Game 5 in the WNBA Finals after defeating the New York Liberty in Game 4, 82-80. Bridget Carleton made a pair of free throws with two seconds left to put the Lynx in front. Sabrina Ionescu’s would-be buzzer-beating 3-pointer wound up an air ball, denying the Liberty their first championship for the moment.

McBride led the Lynx with 19 points. She also grabbed two rebounds and dished out four assists. Through four games in the series, she is averaging 17.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 43.1% from the field.

The Lynx currently have four championships in their history. A fifth would give them the most for any WNBA franchise. Here’s hoping McBride gets to be part of that fifth title, assuming she can bring herself to watch:

Game 5 will be played Sunday in Brooklyn.

6 celebs at WNBA Finals Game 4, including Julius Randle and Mike Conley

Julius Randle and Mike Conley had a blast courtside.

The list of celebs pulling up to watch the WNBA Finals continues to grow, and for Game 4, there were some pretty awesome folks at Target Center.

The best part of the Finals has undoubtedly been the outstanding basketball, but some fantastic folks have been on the sidelines, too. Jason Sudeikis and Spike Lee led game 1. Game 2 had Jennifer Hudson and boyfriend Common at the head of the pack. And Justin Jefferson’s griddy held things up for Game 3.

Game 4 was full of hometown support. Julius Randle and Mike Conley of the Minnesota Timberwolves were both in the building as the Lynx and Liberty went back and forth. It looked like a whole vibe because there’s a hysterical video of Mike doing the electric slide with Courtney Williams’ dad postgame, and we can’t stop giggling.

Here are four more famous folks who were at Game 4 Friday:

Why were the Lynx doing the electric slide after WNBA Finals Game 4? Here’s the funny reason.

The Minnesota Lynx often do the electric slide. Here’s the hilarious reason why.

The Minnesota Lynx won a dramatic Game 4 during the WNBA Finals. Their postseason run would have nearly ended without a missed Sabrina Ionescu logo 3-pointer. Afterward, they broke out the electric slide in celebration.

Why were they dancing? No one knows, but it gets the people going.

I’m kidding. But also kind of serious. Neither Napheesa Collier nor Courtney Williams knows why, nor does head coach Cheryl Reeve. Here’s what Reeve said when she was recently asked about it:

“This was a tradition that was started in Minnesota Lynx. Long before I got to Minnesota Lynx…What they’re doing now is whatever they put their stamp on. But that’s a tradition that’s long been a Minnesota Lynx thing before we all got here.”

10 dazzling pregame outfits from WNBA Finals Game 4, including Breanna Stewart’s snazzy fireworks jacket

Stewie’s fireworks jacket is a whole MOOD.

Welcome to For The Win’s WNBA fashion roundup, Finals edition, where we bring you all the lovely fashion from Game 4 at Target Center.

There have been some very dope outfits during this Liberty-Lynx series. In Brooklyn, there was Ellie the Elephant’s custom jacket in Game 1 and Breanna Stewart’s awesome clouds shorts set in Game 2. Courtney Williams wore fabulous grunge-style pants when the series shifted to Minnesota for Game 3.

For Game 4 in Minneapolis, Williams said she couldn’t think about an outfit. However, several other players, like her teammate Napheesa Collier, came dressed up. Stewie also came dressed to impress, and this time, she wore a snazzy black jacket seemingly bedazzled with fireworks.

Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant and Lynx mascot Prowl are beefing

We love a good, petty mascot beef situation. TURN THIS UP.

This story was updated to include post-championship thoughts from Ellie.

New York Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant and Minnesota Lynx mascot Prowl are beefing, and we can’t stop laughing.

It’s no secret that Ellie is the best WNBA mascot. Many have tried to come close to her aura (sorry, Skye, the Lioness) but haven’t even remotely been close. So, of course, with the WNBA Finals happening, Ellie stayed true to her brand and brought her A-game, including arriving in a custom jacket to show off during pregame tunnels.

Ellie’s seemingly high profile has caused Prowl, Minnesota’s mascot, to up its tactics. After a video surfaced of Ellie giving Courtney Williams’ dad some grief during a Finals game at Barclays, Prowl teamed up with Courtney’s father to rewatch the video and send Ellie a message to “bring it.”

Of course, Ellie had to respond with some hysterical next-level trolling.

Then, Prowl had something to say, and now there’s BEEF.

But it gets better (or worse, in Minnesota’s case). Liberty star Jonquel Jones seemingly had no idea Prowl existed.

UPDATE: After the Liberty won its first championship, the beef is seemingly over, and Ellie got the last laugh.

Napheesa Collier’s husband shares hysterical Courtney Williams meme following Game 3 loss

10/10 content. No notes.

Napheesa Collier’s husband, Alex Bazzell, shared a hilarious Courtney Williams meme after Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, and it’s perfect.

In case you missed it, Wednesday night’s Liberty-Lynx matchup was one for the ages. New York erased a 16-point lead behind a standout 30-point performance from Breanna Stewart and one otherworldly game-winning logo 3-pointer from Sabrina Ionescu.

After such a wild game, it’s not hard for Lynx fans to probably feel a bit deflated. But Phee’s husband isn’t seemingly worried. Postgame, he shared a Courtney Williams meme from the 2019 WNBA playoffs after the Sun swept the Sparks, and it’s incredibly perfect.

Justin Jefferson hit an effortless courtside griddy during WNBA Finals Game 3

Courtside Jettas is the best.

Justin Jefferson pulled up to Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, and we love to see it.

Yes, Jettas was in the building to watch the Minnesota Lynx take on the New York Liberty. He regularly attends games, but on Wednesday, he joined the growing list of celebrities, like Jason Sudeikis, Spike Lee, and Jennifer Hudson, who want in on watching some of the WNBA’s best battle for a championship this postseason.

Of course, no appearance by Justin Jefferson is complete without his signature sunglasses, grill and chain, and, oh, yeah, a courtside giddy. Here’s Jettas pumping up the crowd during Wednesday night’s matchup. I gotta admit, doing the griddy while sitting down and still having it look so smooth is very impressive.
