The WNBA’s ‘144’ documentary on the league’s 2020 season looks absolutely incredible

The WNBA’s upcoming documentary looks incredible

There’s a WNBA Bubble documentary coming and it looks absolutely incredible.

The Wubble seemed like a wild experience last season and this documents it all. It takes a deep dive into the biggest moments both on and off of the court for the players who stayed at IMG Academy last year for the WNBA season.

Last season was jam-packed with huge moments and the biggest ones weren’t even about basketball. We could get behind-the-scenes looks at the WNBA walkout, the discussions behind supporting Raphael Warnock, the moment where A’ja Wilson won her first MVP and so much more.

The film is officially called “144” for the 144 players in the league. Here’s a look at the trailer and it looks incredible.

The most incredible part is that it was produced by the Sparks’ Chiney Ogwumike.

Yeah. This is going to be amazing.

Dwyane Wade gives Candace Parker the appreciation she deserves for being the best at her jobs

Candace Parker is incredible.

Candace Parker has been absolutely spectacular in her role on TNT’s Tuesday NBA broadcasts.

Her analysis is always spot on and right on time. It’s very clear that she’s put in hard work and practice to get that good at it.

She’s also still one of the best basketball players in the world. And when the WNBA started back up at IMG Academy in Florida, it was easy to assume that we’d miss her analysis because, of course, she’d be playing actual basketball games.

Nope. Instead, she’s Superwoman.

Parker has been playing in meaningful WNBA games by day and then video calling in to the NBA on TNT set by night to break down games on postgame broadcasts. Oh, and by the way, her daughter is with her in the Wubble. So she’s also on mom duty, too.

She deserves all of our praise. On Tuesday night, Dwyane Wade offered some up live on the broadcast.

“They talk about it on social. She do have a lot of jobs, but every job she has it seems like A1 in each job. And being a mother is probably most important of that. But we’re thankful that she’s our teammate and we get an opportunity to be in her presence. We’re just thankful for her. Candace, you are incredible.”

Incredibly well said.

Kevin Durant absolutely roasted Kendrick Perkins again and it was hilarious

Ouch.

Kendrick Perkins doesn’t seem to have many friends in the NBA anymore. His work at ESPN seems to have a number of hoopers fed up with him.

One of them, most notably, is Kevin Durant. The two former teammates and friends have been on the outs for months now, but it all came to a head back in January when Perkins told Durant on Twitter he pulled the “weakest move in NBA history” by going to the Warriors.

Durant has been roasting this man ever since. It even got to the point where he called Perkins a “sellout.

The roast session continued Wednesday during Durant’s visit to the Tea with A and Phee WNBA podcast hosted by Las Vegas Aces’ forward A’ja Wilson and Minnesota forward Napheesa Collier.

The two WNBA stars asked Durant what he thought Perkins’ scoring average during Durant’s 2013-14 MVP campaign was. Durant thought it was 5.4 ppg but…it was lower. And everything took off from there.

The whole exchange was hilarious.

“Durant: No way he averaged less than 4 points per game.

Collier: He averaged 3.4.

Durant: Oh my Gosh…Yo he really averaged 3.5 points a game?

Wilson: That’s a good GPA.

Collier: Less than 3.5.

Durant: That’s terrible.”

The pettiness is palpable. Ouch. Durant called that flat out terrible and then laughed him out of the room. Perkins had it coming, though. He’s been going at Durant for years now — this is just him firing back.

This certainly won’t be the end of the saga. Just wait until Perkins hears this. He’ll probably have a lot to say.
