Wisconsin at Iowa odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Wisconsin at Iowa odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wisconsin Badgers (5-4, 3-3 Big Ten) meet the Iowa Hawkeyes (5-4, 3-3) Saturday at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Wisconsin vs. Iowa odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Badgers registered a 23-10 win over Maryland last Saturday, winning and covering in consecutive games for the first time this season. Wisconsin remains very much in the hunt for the West Division title and is tied with Iowa just 1 game behind Illinois.

The Hawkeyes posted an impressive 24-3 win at Purdue last weekend, covering as 3.5-point underdogs en route to their 2nd consecutive victory by 20 or more points. Iowa, like Wisconsin, still has a shot at representing the West Division in the Big Ten Championship Game. Iowa enters on a 5-2 ATS run across the past 7 games overall.

Wisconsin at Iowa picks and predictions

Prediction

Iowa 25, Wisconsin 19

Moneyline

IOWA (-110) is a solid value at home at near even money, as QB Spencer Petras and the Hawkeyes offense finally appear to have found their sea legs.

The Hawkeyes have won the Heartland Trophy just once in the past 6 meetings, a 28-7 victory on Dec. 12, 2020, during the COVID season.

Wisconsin is just 1-2 SU/ATS in 3 games on the road this season, with the only victory against lowly Northwestern.

Against the spread

Playing Iowa +0.5 (-112) doesn’t make any sense, as there is no way this game can end up a tie. So just roll with the moneyline, which is slightly cheaper. There is no reason to make this bet.

PASS.

Over/Under

OVER 35 (-112) might be the best play on the board. This is an ultra-low number considering the fact Wisconsin is averaging a healthy 30.8 PPG, while Iowa has managed 28.5 PPG in its last 2 outings.

This won’t be confused for a video game, or a track meet, but we should easily see a total into the 40s despite pretty strong defenses on both sides.
