Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL Week 10 parlay

Analyzing NFL Week 10 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

We move to Week 10 of the 2024 NFL regular season, and we’re looking to rebound after misfiring on our Week 9 card.

The Buffalo Bills topped the Miami Dolphins, but they just missed the cover. Buffalo was up 27-20 with 6:18 to go in regulation, narrowly covering as a 6-point favorite, but Miami tied it up with 1:38 to go, and Buffalo won it with a 61-yard field goal by Tyler Bass.

We also backed the New Orleans Saints against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints won 47-10 in Week 1 in NOLA, but the Panthers won 23-22 in the rematch as a 7-point underdog.

In the final game, we were able to hit the Under (48) in the rain at Lambeau Field between the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers.

Let’s get back on track with some victories in Week 10.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 10 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportsbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

WEEK 10

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Friday at 6:43 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: VIKINGS -7 (-110) at Jaguars – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Minnesota Vikings (6-2) travel to meet the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7) for an NFC vs. AFC battle in Duval.

It’s risky business to take the road team laying such a high number. However, Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is nursing a left shoulder injury, and he was limited in practice Thursday. There are reports that Lawrence is likely to miss Sunday’s game. If so, that means former New England Patriots first-round draft pick QB Mac Jones would get his first start for the Jags.

The Vikings have managed a 2-1 straight up (SU) and against the spread (ATS) mark in 3 road games this season. Minnesota did lose in a Thursday night game against the LA Rams in Week 8, but in road games on a Sunday the Vikings have covered both outings, averaging 29.5 points per game (PPG).

Minnesota is favored by a season-high 7 points. Last week, the Vikings won 21-13 to cover against the Indianapolis Colts as a 5.5-point favorite, which was the previous high number for Minnesota.

Vikings QB Sam Darnold has helped the Minnesota pass attack to a ranking of 12th in the NFL, averaging 222.1 yards per game. On the flip side, Jacksonville ranks 31st in both total yards (389.3) and passing yards (264.3) per game, while yielding 28.0 PPG to check in 30th.

BACK VIKINGS -7 (-110) to kick off our 3-leg parlay in Week 10.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Leg 2: FALCONS -3.5 (-115) at Saints – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Atlanta Falcons (6-3) travel to meet the New Orleans Saints (2-7) for the second and final meeting between these NFC South members.

This advice comes with a disclaimer, as Falcons WR Drake London is dealing with a hip pointer, and his status for Sunday is still up in the air. He was limited in practice in a walkthrough Wednesday, and also in a more traditional practice Thursday. Be mindful to circle back later Friday to check the official injury report before finalizing your wager.

In addition, TE Kyle Pitts is in the same boat, limited in both practices with a hamstring injury.

If London were to miss Sunday’s game, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should get away from Atlanta, but it means wait, as the number could fall to the neighborhood of -2.5 or so.

Also, if London sits, WR Darnell Mooney is still healthy, and he is still a potent downfield threat. The Falcons have ranked 7th in the NFL with 246.3 passing yards per game, and 24.6 PPG. Conversely, the Saints allow 376.4 total yards, 239.9 passing yards, 136.6 rushing yards and 25.4 points per game.

BACK FALCONS -3.5 (-115) as our middle game play, but again, double check Friday to check the official injury report before finalizing.

Leg 3: CARDINALS ML (+105) vs. Jets – 4:25 p.m (CBS)

The Arizona Cardinals (5-4) host the New York Jets (3-6), and the home team, with a winning record, is a short ‘dog. Make it make sense.

RB James Conner is nursing a finger injury, and he has been limited in both practices this week. However, it seems like he is likely to play. If not, Emari Demercado showed tremendous speed last week, including a long touchdown run, and if Conner should sit, it doesn’t change a thing.

The Jets did come up with a 21-13 victory against the Houston Texans on Thursday night in Week 9, halting a 5-game losing streak. But New York is just 1-4 SU/ATS in 5 games on the road this season. That’s why it’s rather curious to see Gang Green favored.

PARLAY CARD

  • VIKINGS -7 (-110) at Jaguars

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL Week 9 parlay

Analyzing NFL Week 9 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

It’s on to Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season, and we’re looking to bounce back. We just missed cashing our 3-leg parlay in Week 8 by a single point.

The Green Bay Packers won by only 3 points last Sunday, missing the cover as 4-point favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Packers closed as 3.5-point favorites at some shops, and that means the cover was missed by a half-point by some bettors. That’s even worse.

Not that it matters much, but we did hit the Over (41) in the Carolina Panthers-Denver Broncos game by just a single point, too, and we needed QB Bryce Young and WR Jalen Coker to connect for a TD in the final minute to get the W.

The Pittsburgh Steelers also held on for a 26-18 win/cover as 6-point favorites over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. If you bet each leg of the parlay individually, then you finished ahead.

Let’s try to get back to our winning ways from Week 7.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 9 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportsbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

WEEK 9

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Saturday at 11:59 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: BILLS -6 (-110) vs. Dolphins – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Buffalo Bills (6-2) host the Miami Dolphins (2-5) for the second meeting between these AFC East rivals.

The Bills rolled to a 31-10 win against the Seattle Seahawks last weekend, and they’ve won back-to-back games by at least 21 points, while winning and covering each of the past 3 outings.

Buffalo went out and acquired WR Amari Cooper, while rookie WR Keon Coleman has been showing dramatic improvement. The Bills are starting to roll and take care of the teams they’re supposed to.

As a favorite, Buffalo is a perfect 5-0 straight up (SU), while covering each of the past 4 after failing to cover in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals as a 7-point favorite.

These teams met in South Florida back on Thursday Night Football in Week 2, and that’s the game QB Tua Tagovailoa was knocked out of due to a concussion. Buffalo rolled to a 31-10 victory as a 2.5-point underdog. Tagovailoa just returned to the lineup in last week’s game after a 5-week absence, but he and the Dolphins lost to the visiting Cardinals.

The Bills are playing good football, while the Dolphins look like a rudderless ship. As long as this stays under a flat 7 points, bang the Bills in the first end of the parlay.

BACK BILLS -6 (-110) to begin our Week 9 three-leg parlay.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Leg 2: SAINTS -7 (-115) at Panthers – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The New Orleans Saints (2-5) visit the Carolina Panthers (1-6) for the second and final meeting between these NFC South rivals.

The Saints pounded the Panthers back in Week 1 by a 47-10 score, easily covering the 3.5-point spread as the Over (41.5) cashed.

QB Derek Carr started that game, throwing for 200 yards and 3 TDs. He was knocked out of the Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs due to an oblique injury and missed 3 games. He is expected to return in Week 9, much to the dismay of the Panthers.

QB Bryce Young started that Week 1 rout, and he was benched in Week 3. However, last week he returned to starting duties after QB Andy Dalton suffered a sprained thumb in a fender bender. Young did OK in Denver and gets the nod again in Week 9 against the nemesis Saints.

The Saints have won 3 in a row in this series, going 2-0-1 ATS. The Saints have won 3 of the past 5 trips to Charlotte, too, going 2-2-1 ATS. Let’s back Carr and the Saints as they look to rev up the offense after tremendous struggles with QBs Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener under center.

BACK SAINTS -7 (-115) as our middle play.

Leg 3: UNDER 48 (-110) – Lions at Packers – 4:25 p.m (FOX)

The weather forecast calls for temperatures in the low 50s with an 80% chance of precipitation and winds of 14-17 mph, with gusts to 20-25 mph. We’ll get a steady rain throughout the game.

With such an ugly weather forecast, we should get a ground-based attack from both the Detroit Lions (6-1) and the Packers (6-2). Just double-check the weather forecast closer to kickoff Sunday before finalizing your wager.

Add in the fact Packers QB Jordan Love (groin) suffered a groin injury last week, and he is a question mark for Sunday. With rain in the forecast and a slick surface, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Packers play it very safely, rather than risking an aggravation of Love’s injury. The possibility of QB Malik Willis starting makes the Under look that much more attractive.

PARLAY CARD

  • BILLS -6 (-110) vs. Dolphins
  • SAINTS -7 (-115) at Panthers
  • UNDER 48 (-110) Lions at Packers

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $58.14 (payout = $68.14).

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 8

Analyzing NFL Week 8 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

We’re on to Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season, coming off a successful 3-leg Week 7 parlay. Let’s build on that success and keep things rolling into the new weekend.

In Week 7, the Philadelphia Eagles rode RB Saquon Barkley against his former team, easily covering as 3-point road favorites against the New York Giants in a 28-3 rout.

For the second leg, sometimes you need a little misfortune for the other team. The Kansas City Chiefs were the pick as 2-point ‘dogs in a Super Bowl rematch in Santa Clara. The San Francisco 49ers saw WR Deebo Samuel exit with an illness and WR Brandon Aiyuk checked out with a serious injury. San Francisco was disheveled after that, and the Chiefs ended up with the big 28-18 road win.

In the third and final leg of the parlay, we went with a 2.5-point underdog in the Sunday Night Football game, backing the Pittsburgh Steelers, who won in convincing fashion (37-15) against the visiting New York Jets …

… and the 3-teamer cashed for a $68.52 profit on a $10 wager. Let’s do it again, shall we?

Please excuse the fact this story was published a little later than you’re used to, but we were waiting for the official injury report for the Monday Night Football game.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 8 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportsbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we have 2 Sunday plays and a Monday night play.

WEEK 8

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Saturday at 9:52 p.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: PACKERS -4 (-110) at Jaguars – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Green Bay Packers (5-2) visit the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-5) for this cross-conference matchup.

Looking to the Pack, QB Jordan Love is cooking along with a cadre of receivers who could make some noise against a leaky Jaguars pass defense. The Packers rank inside the top 10 in total yards (383.1), passing yards (228.1), rushing yards (155.0) and points (26.6) per game.

The Jaguars pass defense allows 273.9 yards per game, which ranks 31st in the NFL — or second-to-last. The Jags also allow 27.7 points per game (PPG), so the Packers offense should be able to get loose in plenty of open spaces.

BACK PACKERS -4 (-110) to kick off our Week 8 three-leg parlay.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Leg 2: OVER 41 (-110) – Panthers at Broncos – 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

The Carolina Panthers (1-6) visit the Denver Broncos (4-3) in — what might be hard to believe but — a Super Bowl 50 rematch. We rolled with a Super Bowl rematch in our second leg last week, so let’s hope lightning strikes twice.

The Panthers turn back to QB Bryce Young, who was benched heading into Week 3 for veteran QB Andy Dalton. The Red Rifle led the Panthers to a 36-22 victory at the Las Vegas Raiders that week, but they have gone 0-4 since.

However, the real problem for the Panthers has been the defense. This team has allowed 34 or more points in 4 straight outings, including a 40-burger last week against the Washington Commanders — in a 40-7 loss. The Over has connected in 4 of the past 5 games for Carolina.

The Broncos have surprisingly cashed Overs in 3 in a row and scored 26 or more points in 3 of the past 5, including their 2 matchups against NFC South teams so far this season. Denver dropped 33 on the New Orleans Saints in the Week 7 Thursday night game — in a 33-10 road victory — as rookie QB Bo Nix continues to get his swerve on.

BACK OVER 41 (-110) as our middle play.

Leg 3: STEELERS -6 (-110) vs. Giants – Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ABC/ESPN)

For the final pick of our 3-team parlay, we’ll roll with the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2). They did us a solid last week against the Jets, so we’ll ride with them again, this time the New York Giants (2-5), who we faded last week, too.

Giants LB Brian Burns (Achilles, groin) and DT Dexter Lawrence (hip) look like they’re going to gut it out and play as both were not listed on the injury report. However, both players were limited in practice, which is good news for the Steelers offense.

That offense has turned up the intensity in the past 2 weeks, averaging 34.5 PPG, while allowing just 14.0 PPG and covering both games in back-to-back wins.

There was some concern with Pittsburgh changing from QB Justin Fields — who was 4-2 in the first 6 games — to veteran QB Russell Wilson, but the experienced Willson finished strong after a slow start on SNF against the Jets last week. With a downfield threat, this Pittsburgh offense looks even more dangerous, especially against inferior teams with a banged-up defense.

Roll with STEELERS -6 (-110) for the third and final leg of this winning parlay.

PARLAY CARD

  • PACKERS -4 (-110) at Jaguars
  • OVER 41 (-110) Panthers at Broncos
  • STEELERS -6 (-110) vs. Giants

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 7

Analyzing NFL Week 7 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

We’re heading for Week 7 of the 2024 NFL season, and we had mixed results last week.

Heading into Week 7, we have another game from England kicking off at 9:30 a.m. ET, and it will be the rainiest and windiest game of the NFL weekend slate, too. Winds will be gusting up to 25 MPH, and there is a 70% chance of precipitation, although it might be intermittent and not a constant downpour for the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars.

In Week 6, we started off with a winner with the Chicago Bears taking care of the Jaguars in rather easy fashion. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also had a high-scoring victory against the banged-up New Orleans Saints, dropping a 50-burger on them. The Bucs took advantage of rookie QB Spencer Rattler starting, and that was the reason for backing the road team.

In the 3rd leg of the parlay, the Denver Broncos made a valiant comeback, but they fell short against the LA Chargers. However, if you instead swapped in the Cincinnati Bengals, offered as a 4th option, the latter scored a late TD to drop the New York Giants. So, 3 of the 4 legs hit, and if you mixed things up, or bet each leg individually, hopefully you came out ahead.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 7 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportsbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we have a 3-way parlay set for Sunday.

WEEK 7

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Saturday at 12:59 p.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: EAGLES -3 (-115) at Giants – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) travel to meet the New York Giants (2-4) for the 1st of 2 meetings this season.

The good news for the G-Men is that rookie WR Malik Nabers (concussion) is ready to return. However, the bad news is that CB Adoree’ Jackson (neck) is out, while LB Brian Burns (groin) and DL Dexter Lawrence (hip) are each listed as questionable. With the defense banged up, that’s a problem for the home side.

The Eagles have won 5 of the past 6 meetings in this series, while the teams have split 3-3 against the spread during the span. The difference here, for me, is quarterbacks. QB Jalen Hurts should be top notch, and top WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith are back to health. QB Daniel Jones isn’t on the same level.

BACK EAGLES -3 (-115) to start off our Week 7 three-leg parlay.

Leg 2: CHIEFS ML (+100) at 49ers – 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-0) meet the San Francisco 49ers (3-3) in a Super Bowl rematch.

How many times do we see one team win the big game, and in the rematch the next regular season, the Super Bowl loser wins the consolation prize?

Well, that’s not what we’re rolling with here. The Chiefs are coming off a bye, and they’ll be well rested, having had 2 weeks to give their bumps and bruises a break.

49ers RB Jordan Mason is a question mark due to an AC joint injury. He might be able to play, but the Chiefs rushing defense allows 88.4 yards per game to rank 5th in the NFL. The Chiefs are also allowing just 17.0 PPG, ranking 6th.

BACK CHIEFS ML (+100) at even-money for an even better value.

FOOTBALL NEVER STOPS

Leg 3: STEELERS ML (+110) vs. Jets – 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

In the 3rd and final end of our 3-leg parlay, we’ll roll with another moneyline underdog.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) host the New York Jets (2-4), and we might get to see QB Russell Wilson make his team debut. It would be a curious move, however, as QB Justin Fields has kept things together, helping the team to a winning mark through the 1st 6 games.

The books seem to be overvaluing the addition of WR Davante Adams to the Jets, too. He was just acquired, and it’s hard to imagine he’ll have a firm grasp of the playbook, even if he knows QB Aaron Rodgers well.

The Jets just changed their coaching staff, too, so things are in a bit of flux. I’ll take the consistency and stability with Mike Tomlin’s staff, especially as short ‘dogs at home.

Go with STEELERS ML (+110) for the 3rd and final leg of this winning parlay.

PARLAY CARD

  • EAGLES (-115) at Giants

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 6

Analyzing NFL Week 6 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

We’re heading for Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season, and we’re looking for a second consecutive winning weekend on the professional gridiron.

In Week 6, we have the 2nd of 3 consecutive weekends with a Sunday morning kickoff from the United Kingdom at 9:30 a.m. ET. We have 4 teams on bye weeks with the Kansas City Chiefs, LA Rams, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings getting a much deserved rest.

Last week, we played the aforementioned Vikings against the New York Jets in London while laying the points. In the 2nd end, we backed the Washington Commanders laying the 3 points against the Cleveland Browns, and that was the easiest portion of the ticket. The Commanders breezed to a 34-13 win against the toothless offense of the Browns.

In the 3rd and final end, also in the early window like the Browns-Commanders, things were looking up. The Jacksonville Jaguars, previously winless, were laying the 3 points against the visiting Indianapolis Colts. Jacksonville entered with an 8-1 against-the-spread (ATS) mark in the previous 9 meetings, while winning 4 of the past 5 in the series outright.

Jacksonville was up just 13-10 at the break, but it went up 34-20 with 5:09 to go in regulation. However, the Jaguars defense broke down, allowing 2 TDs in the span of 1:47, including a 65-yard TD pass from QB Joe Flacco to WR Alec Pierce to tie the game at 34. The Jaguars drove the field, and PK Cam Little booted a 49-yard field goal to at least give us a push and a 2-team parlay victory.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 6 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportsbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we have a 3-way parlay set for Sunday, and we’re again putting the London game as option No. 1.

WEEK 6

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Saturday at 11:20 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: BEARS -1 (-110) vs. Jaguars in London – 9:30 a.m. (NFL Network)

The Chicago Bears (3-2) have QB Caleb Williams starting to play at a high level, and that’s bad news for the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4), who will be hard-pressed to build upon last weekend’s feel-good win.

The Jacksonville offense is rather so-so, and it has struggled all season to cobble together much through the air. QB Trevor Lawrence finally had a good day in Week 5, but that was against a leaky Indy pass D. Chicago’s pass defense is air-tight, allowing just 174.0 passing yards per contest and only 17.0 PPG.

The Jaguars allow 393.4 total yards and 287.8 passing yards per game, while allowing 28.6 PPG. The passing yardage total is the worst in the NFL, and that’s music to the ears of Chicago bettors. It’s surprising to see Chicago favored by just a single point. Take advantage, and go rather aggressively on this play as a standalone wager, too.

BACK BEARS -1 (-110) to begin our Week 6 parlay with a bang.

Leg 2: BUCCANEERS -3.5 (-105) at Saints – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2) have had a wild week. It wasn’t terrible from a football perspective, just from a life perspective.

Hurricane Milton made landfall as a major storm just south of the Tampa area, and the football players are human. Like Tampa Bay Lightning hockey players, some Bucs players have home damage and loss of personal possessions. It’s a harrowing experience. Heck, the Tampa Bay Rays lost the roof of their stadium!

It won’t be an easy trip to face the New Orleans Saints (2-3), who will try to refocus and get back on track.

The good news for the Bucs is that the Saints will be using rookie QB Spencer Rattler for his 1st-ever NFL start, and he does so on a short week. QB Derek Carr exited the Monday night game in Kansas City with an oblique injury, and it is reportedly a multi-week sort of ailment.

The Buccaneers have won 3 of the past 4 meetings in this series, including 2 straight trips in New Orleans. Tampa has won 3 of the previous 4 visits to the Caesars Superdome, too.

BACK BUCCANEERS -3.5 (-105) for the 2nd leg of this parlay.

In the 3rd and final end of our 3-leg parlay, we’ll back the red-hot Denver Broncos (3-2). They haven’t been getting it done pretty, but they have been getting it done.

The Broncos have been using a lockdown defense to ride to a 3-game win streak, with the defense allowing just 34 total points, or 11.3 PPG during the span. Denver is 3-0 ATS during the run, too, while cashing in 4 of the 5 games to date.

The LA Chargers (2-2) are coming off a bye, and hopefully for the Bolts, QB Justin Herbert‘s ankle and foot issues were able to calm down. He was dealing with plantar fasciitis in the preseason, and that’s not something which easily goes away.

The offense was abysmal in the 2 games prior to the bye, going for 10 points in each game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Chiefs. It won’t likely get much better against a stifling Broncos D.

Go with BRONCOS +3 (-115) for the 3rd and final leg of this winning parlay.

Leg 4-*: BENGALS -3.5 (-110) at Giants – 8:20 p.m. (NBC)

*-If you want to add a 4th play to this parlay.

The Cincinnati Bengals (1-4) hit the road for the Meadowlands, and they’ll be facing a New York Giants (2-3) team which is nicked up.

The Giants will once again be without rookie WR Malik Nabers, who remains in the concussion protocol. Really, that’s the biggest concern for the Bengals defense because Nabers has the ability to spread the field, and he helps QB Daniel Jones significantly. While the latter actually rediscovered WR Darius Slayton last week for a stunning win at the Seattle Seahawks, don’t look for lightning to strike twice.

This Cincinnati team is a wounded animal, but still very, very dangerous, especially on offense. Look for QB Joe Burrow, WR Ja’Marr Chase and WR Tee Higgins to show out in Gotham.

For the bonus 4th leg, if you want to add it, play BENGALS -3.5 (-110).

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $123.03 (payout = $133.03).

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 5

Analyzing NFL Week 5 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

Welcome to Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season. It’s been a little up and down this season, with favorites failing more often than not.

Week 4 was no different, and 9 of the 12 games had spreads of 3.5 or fewer points, making it that much more difficult from a handicapping perspective. In Week 5, we have just 4 games with a spread of 4 or more points.

In Week 5, we also have the 1st of 3 straight weekends with a morning kickoff from the United Kingdom at 9:30 a.m. ET. Bye weeks are kicking in, too. Because of the byes, there are fewer games in the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. windows Sunday, so we must choose more wisely.

Last week, we played the Over (44.5) in the Jacksonville Jaguars-Houston Texans game but missed by just a half-point. It got worse. The Cleveland Browns lost to a Las Vegas Raiders team missing its best offensive player, and its best defensive player. And, we expected defense to rule the Monday Night Football game between the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions, but it turned into a track meet at Ford Field instead. We’ll do better in Week 5.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 5 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we’re going with 3 sides from the Sunday slate, starting with the early kickoff from London.

WEEK 5

Leg 1: VIKINGS -2.5 (-115) vs. Jets in London – 9:30 a.m. (NFL Network)

The Minnesota Vikings (4-0) have been stunning this season, firing out to an undefeated start. Nobody saw that coming, and it is former New York Jets 1st-round draft pick QB Sam Darnold leading the way.

The Vikings are also 4-0 against the spread (ATS) with wins and covers against 3 playoff teams from last season the past 3 weekends. It’s been an impressive and uncanny run.

The Vikings are so-so on offense, but they’re very balanced, going for 217.0 passing yards per game (ranking 10th) and 123.8 rushing YPG game (14th). They also have solid red-zone efficiency, scoring at 66.7% (8th), per Teamrankings.com.

While Minnesota’s defense ranks last against the pass (274.3 YPG), it ranks 2nd against the run (75.0 YPG) and 4th in points allowed (14.8 PPG).

The Vikings will have their hands full against old friend QB Aaron Rodgers, but they’ll use their balanced offense to get the job done across the pond.

BACK VIKINGS -2.5 (-115) to kick off this Week 5 parlay in a big way.

Leg 2: COMMANDERS -3 (-110) vs. Browns – 1 p.m. (FOX)

The Commanders (3-1) have had a ton of success on offense lately, picking up 3 consecutive wins and covers since dropping a 37-20 loss at Tampa Bay in Week 1.

Washington appears to have hit the jackpot with rookie QB Jayden Daniels, as the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner has picked up right where he left off at LSU last season.

Daniels has led the Commanders to 40.0 PPG in the past 2 games, and he has completed 82.1% of his pass attempts through the 1st 4 games. Not only is that the best mark for any rookie through his 1st 4 starts, it’s the best mark of any player in NFL history in the span.

As far as the Browns (1-3) are concerned, they’ve managed 18 or fewer points in all 4 of their games. The offensive line has been banged up and it isn’t getting much better. The good news for QB Deshaun Watson is that he might have TE David Njoku back for the 1st time since Week 1. Njoku carries a questionable tag, so it’s uncertain if he’ll be back or not.

The Browns began the clock for RB Nick Chubb to return from injured reserve as he practiced with the team this week. However, he has been ruled out as he tries to return from a knee injury suffered last season in Week 2.

The Commanders are at home for just the 2nd time this season. Expect them to put on a show for the hometown fans at Northwest Stadium.

BACK COMMANDERS -3 (-110) for the 2nd leg of this parlay.

Leg 3: JAGUARS -3 (-115) – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The winless Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) have won 4 of the past 5 meetings in this series between AFC South Division rivals. That includes a sweep last season, including a 37-20 victory at EverBank Stadium in mid-October.

In addition, Jacksonville has covered 8 of the past 9 meetings in this series dating back to Dec. 29, 2019.

There has been little reason to believe in the Jaguars this season. They’re winless in 4 tries, although they easily could have won their opener at Miami — a 20-17 defeat in which they led with 5 minutes to go. They blew it in Week 2 at home against Cleveland, an 18-13 loss in which they led 13-3 at the half and led 16-13 midway in the 4th quarter. In fact, 3 of the Jaguars’ 4 losses have been in one-score games — by a combined 12 points.

The Jags aren’t that far away from success, and they’ll be facing a team with either 39-year-old QB Joe Flacco making his 1st start of the season or the erratic QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) under center. Richardson is listed as doubtful on the injury report.

Whomever gets the starting nod for Indy will not have RB Jonathan Taylor to hand off to as he is out with a high-ankle sprain. The Jags are primed and positioned for their 1st win of the season.

Go with JAGUARS -3 (-115) for the 3rd and final leg of this winning parlay.

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 4

Analyzing NFL Week 4 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The 2024 NFL season heads into Week 4, and we’re looking to finally try and figure things out. Last week, 5 favorites of 6 or more points not only failed to cover, but they each lost outright. It’s been a topsy-turvy few weeks to bet, and we have a handful of injuries which will make things a little more difficult.

The Las Vegas Raiders were listed as 1-point favorites to open the week, but when it was learned WR Davante Adams (hamstring) and DE Maxx Crosby (ankle) would be sidelined Sunday, the Raiders are the underdogs and the Cleveland Browns are 2-point favorites. It’s amazing how 2 players, albeit a star, can change the complexion of an entire game by sitting out.

We picked the Raiders last week as part of a 3-team parlay, but they were a huge disappointment. The Carolina Panthers came into Allegiant Stadium and upset the Silver and Black, finally looking like an NFL caliber offense with QB Andy Dalton.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 4 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we’ll again go with a total in the early window on Sunday, a play in the 4 p.m. ET slate and a total from Monday Night Football’s doubleheader.

WEEK 4

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Saturday at 10:02 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: Jaguars at Texans — OVER 44.5 (-110) – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Jacksonville Jaguars went on the road Monday night and they got waffled by the Buffalo Bill, 47-10.

After opening with 17 points in a near-miss in Miami, the Jags offense has gotten worse. It managed 13 points in a Week 2 loss to the Browns at home, and then the terrible effort against the Bills. Now, it faces a short week and another trip, the 3rd road game in 4 to start the season.

The Jacksonville offense has been rather moribund, going for 276.3 total yards per game, and just 160.7 passing yards per contest. Both marks are 27th in the league, and it is 30th in the NFL with just 13.3 points per game (PPG) allowed.

The Houston Texans offered little resistance in a 34-7 loss at the Minnesota Vikings last weekend. The team was without RB Joe Mixon, but he wouldn’t have been on coverage, and trying to make tackles.

Mixon is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, and RB Dameon Pierce is out. If Mixon can’t go, that could be mean journeyman RB Cam Akers sees another big role.

That could mean more of an aerial attack for Houston. While WR Tank Dell (chest) is already ruled out, the Texans still have WRs Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs as big downfield threats against a Jacksonville defense which allowed 266 through the air in Buffalo.

On the Jaguars side, tackle machine LB Foyesade Oluokun (foot) is out, and TE Evan Engram (foot) will miss another game. With S Jimmie Ward (groin) sidelined for the Texans, the Jags could also look to go downfield more.

BET OVER 44.5 (-110) to kick off this 3-leg parlay in Week 5.

Leg 2: BROWNS -2 (-110) at Raiders – 4:25 p.m. (CBS)

The Raiders were picked apart by the lowly Panthers last week, falling 36-22. Dalton turned back the clock and looked like a Pro Bowler as he was the 1st QB to throw for at least 300 yards and 3+ TD passes in a single game this season. How unlikely is that?

That gives hope to the suffering Browns fans as QB Deshaun Watson could really use a big game. Watson’s offensive line has been banged up, which is part of the reason he has struggled so much, and RBs Jerome Ford and D’Onta Foreman haven’t been terribly consistent, either, while TE David Njoku remains sidelined.

Still, Watson won’t have to contend with Crosby chasing him down in the backfield, so he could have an extra tick to get off his passes downfield to WRs Amari Cooper, Elijah Moore and Jerry Jeudy. This is the game that the Browns offense breaks out. If not, we might see heads roll, as it’s getting late early in Cleveland.

However, the best play is to BET BROWNS -2 (-110).

FOOTBALL NEVER STOPS

Leg 3: Seahawks at Lions — UNDER 46.5 (-110) – Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ABC)

The Seattle Seahawks head east to battle the Detroit Lions in the 2nd end of a doubleheader on Monday Night Football.

The Seahawks caught a break last week, topping the Miami Dolphins 24-3 as 4-point favorites with the Under (42) cashing. Seattle didn’t have to face QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion), and it knocked backup QB Skylar Thompson from the game with a chest/ribs injury.

While the Seahawks defense was impressive, allowing just 3 points, it did face 2 backups, Thompson and QB Tim Boyle.

Detroit is a perfect 3-for-3 on Unders this season, though. The offense is averaging just 20.7 PPG through 3 outings, while allowing 17.7 PPG.

The Seahawks pass defense has allowed just 473 passing yards in 3 games, and just 1 passing score, with 0 pass plays of 40+ yards allowed. The Lions have allowed a total of 709 passing yards, but just 3 TD passes in 3 games.

This game likely won’t be confused with a defensive slog, but it won’t be a track meet, either.

Go with UNDER 46.5 (-110) for the final leg of this winning parlay!

  • Jaguars-Texans OVER 44.5 (-110)
  • BROWNS -2 (-110) at Raiders
  • Seahawks-Lions UNDER 46.5 (-110)

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $59.58 (payout = $69.58).

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 3

Analyzing NFL Week 3 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The 2024 NFL season moves to Week 3, and we’re getting even more results, stats and data to make informed decisions on wagers going forward.

Unfortunately, while injuries are always a part of the game, it seems like the injury bug has been biting a lot harder this season, making the picture a little murkier than usual.

We’ve been picking on the poor Carolina Panthers through 2 games, too, and even that once tried-and-true fade play is a concern this weekend. The Panthers pulled the plug on QB Bryce Young, and will go with veteran experience with QB Andy Dalton, trying to look like an NFL-caliber offense again.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 3 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we’ll go with a total in the early window on Sunday, an underdog to win straight up in the 4 p.m. ET slate and a total from Monday Night Football’s doubleheader.

WEEK 3

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds. Lines last updated Friday at 5:30 p.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: Texans at Vikings — UNDER 46 (-110) – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Houston Texans took care of business against another NFC North opponent on Sunday Night Football last weekend, topping the Chicago Bears 19-13 in an impressive defensive effort. Depending upon your shop, and when you placed your wager, it was either a cover, push or non-cover. As the line closed at a majority of shops at -6, we’ll officially call it a push.

Prior to that, Houston went on the road and won 29-27 in a shootout at the Indianapolis Colts, just missing as a 3-point favorite. However, it won’t be intimidated going indoors, on the road, with the Skol chant, loud crowd, etc.

The Minnesota Vikings worked over the New York Giants in Week 1, winning 28-6 on the road. While that’s all well and good, nobody is confusing the G-Men with an elite squad. However, even without RB Christian McCaffrey, the San Francisco 49ers left the Twin Cities with a 23-17 loss, as the 4-point underdogs won outright with the Under (46.5) cashing.

Houston has split the Over/Under in 2 games to date, while Minnesota has cashed low in both outings, allowing just 23 total points, with just 1 passing TD and 1 rushing TD.

BET UNDER 46 (-110) as part of this multi-leg parlay, but also go rather aggressively as a standalone wager.

Leg 2: CARDINALS ML (+125) vs. Lions – 4:25 p.m. (FOX)

It’s obviously still a small sample size, but the Arizona Cardinals look good so far this season. QB Kyler Murray has looked like his pre-injury self, and the Cards are coming off a 41-10 throttling of the beaten-up LA Rams last weekend.

Murray completed 17 of 21 passes for 266 yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs against the Rams in a 41-10 whitewashing. Even in Week 1 at the Buffalo Bills, an Arizona loss, the Cardinals more than held their own against one of the NFL’s elite teams, falling just 34-28 while grabbing the cover.

Last week, Murray got on the same page with rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. for 2 highlight-reel passing scores, and that could be a potentially lethal combination for opposing defenses going forward.

The Detroit Lions were stunned at home by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week, falling 20-16 as 7.5-point favorites. It wasn’t that the Lions couldn’t move the ball, as they did so all afternoon for 139 rushing yards and 324 passing yards. But, it bogged down in the red zone, posting just a 1-of-7 RZ efficiency, which equates to just 14%.

Field goals — instead of TDs — won’t get it done in the NFL, and certainly not on the road. The Lions better hope they are better in the red zone in Week 3, or they could get dusted.

If you’re a little more conservative and would like some insurance, Cardinals +3 (-115) is OK, and buying a half-point is super safe.

However, the best play is to BET CARDINALS ML (+125).

FOOTBALL NEVER STOPS

Leg 3: Commanders vs. Bengals – UNDER 47 (-110) – Monday, 8:15 p.m. (ABC/ESPN+)

The Washington Commanders hit the road to battle the Cincinnati Bengals in 1 of 2 Monday Night Football games in Week 3.

It’s a good opportunity to see 2019 Heisman Trophy winner QB Joe Burrow take on 2023 Heisman Trophy winner QB Jayden Daniels in primetime.

There are a few reasons to consider the Under in this game, however. The main reason is the weather. There is a 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms which could potentially delay the game. When the game does get underway, rain is forecasted through the overnight and into the next day, so it will be a slippery track, likely limiting the pass attack. We should see a more ground-based offense for both teams, which favors the Under.

The Commanders won last week, but they did not get into the end zone as PK Austin Seibert had 7 field goals. The Commanders were a dismal 0 for 6 on red-zone efficiency, and 0 for 3 in goal-to-go efficiency, which also obviously screams Under.

The Bengals were stunned 16-10 in Week 1 against the New England Patriots at home in an ugly offensive performance. After a contract impasse in training camp, WR Ja’Marr Chase played, but he looked rusty and had just a mediocre stat line. The new-look run game with RB Zack Moss replacing RB Joe Mixon has been average, and the offense has missed WR Tee Higgins.

Higgins has been practicing this week after missing the 1st 2 games due to a hamstring injury and expects to play Monday. Might the slippery track at Paycor Stadium in the rain Monday limit the Bengals’ vertical game?

Go with UNDER 47 (-110) for the final leg of this winning parlay!

  • Texans-Vikings UNDER 46 (-110)
  • CARDINALS ML (+125) vs. Lions
  • Commanders-Bengals UNDER 47 (-110)

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $72 (payout = $82.00).

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 2

Analyzing NFL Week 2 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The 2024 NFL season heads into Week 2, and we’re slowly getting some information to make educated choices going forward. Rather than just seeing names on paper, and trying to predict how things will go, we’ll actually have real data and performances.

The thing about the NFL is that things change quickly, and it doesn’t take much for a team to change its fortunes from one season to another. That is, unless you’re the Carolina Panthers; then it seems you’re stuck in a losing trend.

We misfired on our first parlay opportunity in Week 1. While we picked against the Panthers and won, the Miami Dolphins just missed the cover by a half-point and the Las Vegas Raiders were a bad play, as the LA Chargers took care of business in a low-scoring AFC West battle. Time to get on track and into the black.

After looking at BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL Week 2 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

For this week’s parlay, we’re taking 1 game from the early window on Sunday, 1 from the late window and another game on Monday Night Football. Good things come to those who wait, and hopefully things pay off in this 2-day journey.

WEEK 2

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list of NFL odds  Lines last updated Saturday at 4:42 a.m. ET. All games Sunday and ET unless noted.

Leg 1: CHARGERS -5.5 (-110) at Panthers – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Chargers hit the ground running last weekend at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, dropping the Raiders 22-10 to cover as a 3-point favorite in coach Jim Harbaugh’s NFL return.

Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman want to run the ball as that’s their modus operandi. The Chargers were able to do just that against the Raiders. L.A. rolled up 176 rushing yards on 27 attempts, including a 12-yard TD run by RB J.K. Dobbins on the first play of the 4th quarter.

The Panthers had a nightmare in New Orleans in Week 1, falling 47-10 as 3.5-point dogs. They fell behind on a long TD pass to start, and it was 17-0 after 15 minutes. The New Orleans Saints opened up a 30-0 lead in the 2nd quarter before the Panthers had a field goal for their 1st score of the season.

To make matters worse, stud DL Derrick Brown was placed on the injured list with a season-ending knee injury. The Panthers have unbelievably poor luck, and it doesn’t figure to get better after losing a top run stopper.

BET CHARGERS -5.5 (-110) to get out to a 2-0 start — both straight up and against the spread (ATS).

Leg 2: RAMS ML (-110) at Cardinals – 4:05 p.m. (FOX)

The LA Rams not only lost 26-20 to the Detroit Lions in overtime on Sunday Night Football in another thriller in the Motor City, but LA saw WR Puka Nacua leave with a knee injury. He was placed on the the injured list and could miss more than a month.

The good news is that the Rams still have plenty of firepower with WR Cooper Kupp, who racked up a ridiculous 21 targets with 14 grabs, 110 yards and a score. RB Kyren Williams is also a stud, and WR Tyler Johnson and TE Colby Parkinson look to step up to fill the void.

The Arizona Cardinals put up a tremendous fight on the road at the Buffalo Bills, covering a 7-point number in a 34-28 loss. The Arizona defense was very giving, allowing 130 yards on the ground, and 222 yards through the air. That’s a problem as Williams could slice through the Cards like butter.

Traditionally, LA has had very little trouble with Arizona. The Rams have won 5 of the past 6 meetings, and 8 of the previous 10 outings. They have has won and covered 9 in a row in Arizona, too, which is simply amazing. The last time the Cardinals beat the Rams was Nov. 9, 2014. Arizona QB Kyler Murray was 17 years old then, playing his senior year at Allen High School in Texas. Yeah, it’s been a while. BET RAMS (-110).

The Philadelphia Eagles are back from Brazil, and the concern is fatigue after the long travel. However, Philadelphia is worth backing after turning back the Green Bay Packers 34-29 in the opener — Philly covered as a 1-point favorite.

The Atlanta Falcons were on the short end of an 18-10 loss to the other  Pennsylvania team in Week 1, falling as 4-point home favorites to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The good news is that the Steelers were unable to pierce the end zone — kicking 6 field goals — but the bad news is that the Falcons offense was only able to amass 10 points.

That Atlanta offense looked disjointed, and that’s expected to continue Monday. QB Kirk Cousins has a 3-10 record in his career on Monday Night Football. It’s actually something he is rather famous for at this point.

The Eagles are a tempting play and might be good as part of a same-game parlay (SGP) laying 6 points (-110). But the Under is a better play. Atlanta didn’t allow a TD last week, and comfortably cashed low, while the Eagles could be a little sluggish after a 4,000-mile play ride home from Brazil.

Let’s hit UNDER 47 (-110) for the final leg of this winning parlay!

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $59.60 (payout = $59.60).

Winner winner chicken dinner: NFL parlay for Week 1

Analyzing NFL Week 1 betting odds and lines, with predictions and picks for the best parlay bet to make.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The 2024 NFL season is brand new. Hope springs eternal for all 32 teams. Everybody has a new look of some sort. Some have more impressive upgrades than others. Some have exciting high-round draft picks or big-ticket free agents, while a few feature a new coaches.

On the flip side, there are some teams that lost some talent, while not necessarily replacing them with equal or better parts. We saw snippets in the preseason, but it’s often tough to figure out what a team will be when the starters just get a cameo, and often times the entire starting 11 never plays together in a game situation until Week 1.

We can best assess things from past history, and what teams look like on paper, until we actually see the product on the field in the regular season. Even then, things can change drastically in the blink of an eye. Just ask the New York Jets, who had everything built around QB Aaron Rodgers, only to lose him to a ruptured Achilles tendon after just 5 plays last season in a Monday night opener.

After looking at FanDuel Sportsbook’s NFL Week 1 odds, here is our “Winner winner chicken dinner” NFL parlay bet to cash in on among SportbookWire’s NFL expert picks and predictions.

I am very excited to produce this column on a regular basis after serving as a pinch-hitter and fill-in previously. Ever since I was a kid — filling out those cards my dad would bring home from work where you circle the numbers of the winners you want, rip it off at the perforation and then sit on the couch and cross your fingers — I’ve been hooked on parlays.

Leg 1: SAINTS -3.5 (-118) vs. Panthers – 1 p.m. (FOX)

Last season, fading the Carolina Panthers was a very successful strategy. They started out 1-8-2 against the spread (ATS) in the first 11 games, before righting the ship somewhat, and finishing a respectable 3-3 ATS in the final 6 games.

However, one of those final 6 games was the Panthers’ last trip to New Orleans, a 28-6 loss in Week 14 as 5.5-point underdogs. Carolina QB Bryce Young was a dismal 13-of-36 for 137 yards with 0 TDs and no picks. On a positive note, Carolina ran for 204 yards, but it also lost 2 fumbles.

The Caesars Superdome has been a nightmare for the Panthers over the years, with the Saints winning 4 of the past 5 meetings, save for a meaningless Week 18 game in the 2022-23 season. When favored by 4 or more points, New Orleans is 4-1 ATS in the past 5 meetings with Carolina, too.

Look for the SAINTS to get out to a big start in front of their raucous and unique home fans.

Leg 2: DOLPHINS -3.5 (-104) vs. Jaguars – 1 p.m. (CBS)

The Miami Dolphins are going to have an explosive offense as long as their fat wallets don’t slow them down. QB Tua Tagovailoa, as well as WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, signed lucrative contract extensions. The pass-catch triumvirate are certainly going to be in high spirits heading into the new campaign.

In addition to the pass game, which also added big-ticket TE Jonnu Smith, who starred at nearby Florida International University, the Dolphins have RBs De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert. The latter had 18 rushing TDs and 21 combined scores to lead the NFL a year ago. Meanwhile, Achane had 800 rushing yards in just 11 games, while piercing the end zone 8 times on the ground, and another 3 times through the air.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have a difficult time containing Miami’s high-octane offense, and it’s uncertain if QB Trevor Lawrence and the Jags offense have enough firepower to keep up in a potential shootout.

WR Christian Kirk is expected to practice this week, after missing time with a calf injury, but it’s a bad sign when WR1 is also a bit of a question mark. WR Gabe Davis was added, and the Jags have a stud TE Evan Engram, too. However, while Jacksonville has RB Travis Etienne, it is nowhere near as deep on offense.

Perhaps the biggest concern for Jacksonville is LB Foyesade Oluokun. The tackling machine signed an extension in the offseason, but he has been dealing with an undisclosed injury. S Daniel Thomas is battling a foot injury, and DL Arik Armstead has a knee injury. The Jags need all hands on deck, and even that won’t be enough.

Leg 3: RAIDERS +3 (-105) at Chargers – 4:05 p.m. (CBS)

The Raiders head into this game with a lot of potential. I like the fact coach Antonio Pierce settled on QB Gardner Minshew II as his starter over the erratic QB Aidan O’Connell. We could get a little “Minshew Magic” right off the bat in Week 1.

This is a big deal, as the Chargers turn to former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh, fresh off a national championship. Bolts fans are hoping he can take this team to similar heights, but it won’t be easy.

Meanwhile, Chargers QB Justin Herbert is dealing with plantar fasciitis in the right foot, and that’s an ominous start. If you’ve ever had it, rolling your foot over a frozen water bottle is your best part of the day, taking your mind off of sometimes excruciating pain. It isn’t really something that goes away quickly, and without rest. He’ll no-doubt be wearing some sort of high-tech orthotic in his cleats to ease the pain and make things manageable, but it isn’t a great situation.

Herbert also saw RB Austin Ekeler head to the Washington Commanders, WR Keenan Allen go to the Chicago Bears in a trade and WR Mike Williams land with the New York Jets. TE Gerald Everett is with Chicago now, too. Those are several security blankets gone.

The Raiders appear to have a lot fewer questions, and they still have WR Davante Adams and up-and-comer RB Zamir White, as well as rookie TE Brock Bowers on offense. This Vegas team is primed and ready for a big start against the new-look Bolts.

Parlay payout: Bet $10 to profit $60.75 (payout = $70.75).
