Celebrate William Shatner going to space by watching his version of ‘Rocket Man’

If you’ve never seen this before, you’re in for a treat.

William Shatner, the actor known for visiting space on Star Trek, went into actual space on Wednesday with a New Shepard rocket launched by Blue Origin, the company founded by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.

It makes him the oldest person to visit space, as the 90-year-old went up and landed minutes later.

So here’s a good way to celebrate the event: Let’s go back to the 1978 Saturn Awards, where Shatner sang/spoke through Elton John’s classic Rocket Man, and if you’ve never seen this before, be prepared: It’s AMAZING. I’ve seen this so many times and it gets better with every viewing:

What a day for Shatner, and what a day if you’re watching this for the first time.
