The seventh-seeded Vancouver Canucks look to even their best-of-five Western Conference qualification round series with the 10th-seeded Minnesota Wild Tuesday at 10:45 p.m. ET at Rogers Place in the Edmonton bubble. We analyze the Wild-Canucks NHL betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.
Game 1: Wild D Jared Spurgeon scored twice in a 3-0 victory Sunday.
Wild vs. Canucks: Projected starting goalies
Alex Stalock vs. Jacob Markstrom
Stalock stopped 28 shots in the 3-0 shutout to pick up his first career playoff win. Previously, the 33-year-old St. Paul (Minn.) native had played in only four postseason games, including one start, since his 2011 NHL debut. During the regular season, Stalock posted a 20-11-4 record with a 2.67 goals against average, .910 save percentage and four shutouts in 38 games (36 starts). Sunday’s win improved his career record vs. the Canucks to 2-1.
Making his first career postseason appearance, Markstrom allowed just two goals on 30 shots Sunday – and both were on Wild power plays. The 30-year Swede went 23-16-4 with a 2.75 GAA, a .918 SV% and two shutouts in 43 starts this season. He’s now 3-3-1 in his career vs. the Wild.

Prediction
Canucks 3, Wild 1
Moneyline (ML)
The CANUCKS (+100) are my STRONGEST PLAY vs. the Wild (-118). While my strongest play lost with Vancouver in Game 1, I’m sticking with the higher seed in Game 2. The Canucks’ top five forwards – J.T. Miller (72 points), Elias Pettersson (66), Bo Horvat (53), Tanner Pearson (45) and Brock Boeser (45) – managed just five shots on goal in the opener. Look for that to change Tuesday.
New to sports betting? A winning $10 bet on the Canucks returns a profit of $10 – every $1 bet on Vancouver profits $1 with a win.
Puck Line/Against the Spread (ATS)
The Wild are 3-1 vs. the Canucks this season after Sunday, but only one of those four games was decided by one goal – a Minnesota 4-3 shootout victory in Vancouver on Feb. 19. If you like the Wild in Game 2, their puck line odds (-1, +155) offer great value, while the Canucks’ price (+1, -189) is too steep. I’m taking a PASS.
Over/Under (O/U)
UNDER 5.5 (-139) is the way to go. We hit the Under Sunday, and we’re doing it again Tuesday.
