Pat Sajak and Vanna White have gone for quite a spin on television
Vanna White gave a very moving farewell message to Pat Sajak ahead of his final Wheel of Fortune show.
With longtime Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak stepping away from his hosting duties, his longtime screen partner Vanna White delivered a very poignant farewell to the game show legend.
Sajak and White have been together on Wheel of Fortune for more than four decades, as the two are synonymous for the long-running game show and the televised format at large.
On the show’s YouTube page, White gave her official farewell to Sajak, and you can imagine it’s a pretty powerful expression of gratitude after the two game show icons have been working alongside each other for so long.
It’s pretty moving to watch this when you think about their cumulative legacies on the show.
Sajak’s final Wheel of Fortune episode airs Friday, with White slated to be right by his side for his final broadcast. Longtime television personality Ryan Seacrest is slated to take over for Sajak after he leaves the program.

Take a trip behind the Wheel of Fortune puzzle board with Pat Sajak as his final week hosting begins.
It’s the final week of Pat Sajak’s decades-long career hosting Wheel of Fortune, with Ryan Seacrest poised to take over. So maybe he’s happy to open up the cameras to show some behind-the-scenes stuff as the end nears.
Thanks to his daughter, Maggie, we got a little look at what’s behind the big board that we look at night after night. It’s a lot of backstage stuff, like Pat’s water bottles, a lot of TVs, a clock and folks who are working on the show … including, as far as I can see, Vanna White!
Here’s the video Maggie shared recently:

Bill Walton on Wheel of Fortune was fun.
With the passing of Bill Walton, there has been a flood of memories and old times regarding the larger-than-life former UCLA star. One of the favorites that came out was in 1993 when Walton joined Tony Esponsito and Dick Butkus.
Esposito had control of the board and missed the letter by guessing a
“D”. Esposito called himself a “dumb dumb”. Butkus broke out in hysterics, while host Pat Sajak informed him to not laugh at other contestants.
It moved to Walton, who landed on “Car”. After, he guessed the letter “H” and got two of them. After Pat later asked him what he wanted to do next, Bill solved the puzzle, but only after asking “to win the car, right?”
“Joe Namath Wins The Super Bowl” was the answer to the puzzle, as Pat showed him the prize.
You can see the entire clip which lasts nearly two minutes here:

Walton, who was 71 years old, officially passed away on May 27th, 2024.
Yikes.
On Thursday’s Wheel of Fortune, contestant Tavares made a guess that nobody will ever forget … for all the wrong reasons.
While trying to solve a puzzle, Tavares dinged in with his buzzer to suggest the kinda-sorta NSFW answer was, we mean this seriously…
“Right in the butt.” Yikes.
As you can imagine, the answer was absolutely not “Right in the butt,” being that the first word only had four letters, and this is a family game show that comes on while people eat dinner.
The entire room was shocked at the guess, as longtime host Pat Sajak quickly rejected Tavares’ answer. The actual answer? “This is the best.”
Tavares didn't correctly solve the puzzle. But we won't soon forget this response. pic.twitter.com/UsoKqhifwU

We’re guessing Tavares probably wants this answer back in retrospect.

This didn’t go well for these celebs.
To be fair: if you don’t follow the NFL, you may not know Travis and Jason Kelce off the top of your head. And if that’s the case, you might REALLY struggle in Wheel of Fortune when presented with their names.
But what if you follow Taylor Swift’s love life? I guess that didn’t factor in for Sarah Levy, Krysten Ritter and Christian Siriano, who were presented with the clue of “FAMILY.” Although we couldn’t find video to share with you, we can tell you that the two actresses and the designer struggled mightily throughout trying to get letters for this one, saying out loud that they were mystified until Ritter nailed the “K” and read it out loud … but she didn’t pronounce it as “Kel-see” but as “Kelse,” which was acceptable.

It’s certainly not puzzling to see how Caitlin Clark won this award.
Iowa women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark won her second AP Player of the Year honor this week, and she found out the news in the best way.
During a Hawkeyes team meeting, coach Lisa Bluder revealed a Wheel of Fortune-style game puzzle for Iowa to figure out.
As letters were guessed, it became apparent that it had something to do with Clark, as the team soon celebrated the basketball phenom on her stellar achievement once the puzzle was solved.
If you’re going to find out such fantastic news in your last days as a college basketball player, it might as well be in a fun way like this. Clark looked elated at the recognition, as she definitely earned it for what she’s done this season.
You definitely don’t need a Wheel of Fortune puzzle to remind you of that.

Yes, that was Jared Leto, not Pat Sajak.
Do not adjust your televisions. That wasn’t a very hairy Pat Sajak who walked out to host the April 1, 2024 edition of Wheel of Fortune.
Nope, that would be actor and singer Jared Leto who arrived arm in arm with Vanna White on Monday, and he didn’t break character. He simply stepped up to the podium to start the game.
Viewers all did a double-take, which was the right reaction, and hopefully they were all aware of the date thanks to April Fools’ Day. Good one, Wheel.
Here’s the moment that shocked a lot of people, along with some reaction on X (formerly Twitter):

Did she say the right answer but didn’t get credit for it? You be the judge.
This is one of those things like Laurel and Yanny that people might hear differently.
Contestant Megan was in the final round of a Wheel of Fortune game when she saw P_N_ _RC__D on the board. As you’ll see in the video below, she doesn’t appear to know it, but then she says … something. It sure sounds like “PINK ORCHID” to me, but maybe she swallows that first word.
It turns out the answer was … pink orchid! But apparently the judges didn’t hear what she said as the answer, so she didn’t win $40,000.
But there are lots of fans of the show who think she deserves that $40K. You be the judge here:
There is no question, she absolutely said "pink orchid". Please give this girl her winnings! @WheelofFortune @PatOnWheel @TheVannaWhite @MaggieSajak #wheel #wheeloffortune #justiceforpinkorchid Rooting for you, Megan! pic.twitter.com/muiRlMCMLy

I’m sorry, did she NOT say Pink Orchid the first time? Or am I tripping #wheeloffortune pic.twitter.com/b30E4l0MqE

Idk if anyone else watches The Wheel but I swear that lady said Pink Orchid!

This whole sequence is pretty painful, but Pat Sajak came in from the top rope.
Wheel of Fortune has been around for decades, capturing the hearts of many with its host, Pat Sajak, and letter connoisseur Vanna White. It’s also one of the few game shows that can bring a contestant to their knees over how they pronounce a word.
We’ve all been there while watching Wheel of Fortune. We think we’ve got it. We’re SURE we’ve solved the puzzle. We’re proudly yelling what we believe the answer is, only to realize we totally flubbed the word, and not only did we not get it right, but there’s no prize money involved.
Unfortunately, that was the fate of a recent contestant on the popular game show. She did an excellent job building the phrase with letters, but her answer missed the mark when she announced that she would like to solve the puzzle. Then, Pat Sajak chimed in with a one-liner that truly made the moment’s heaviness felt.
OUCH.
No way this lady lost Wheel of Fortune with the entire puzzle solved 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/aO4A5UXbvv

This isn’t the first time this has happened. Others have also done it. Remember this gem from 2014? Woof.
