Western Carolina at Oklahoma odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Western Carolina at Oklahoma odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Western Carolina Catamounts (0-1) and Oklahoma Sooners (1-0) meet Saturday at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Western Carolina at Oklahoma odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

The Catamounts fell at home in Cullowhee, North Carolina by a 31-28 score against fellow FCS member Eastern Kentucky. The good news is that WCU outgained the Colonels 501 to 371 in total yards, but they lost the turnover battle 2 to 1.

The Sooners, No. 4 in the AFCA Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY Sports, struggled against Tulane last week. Oklahoma won 40-35, but it allowed 100 rushing yards and 296 yards through the air. The good news is that Oklahoma forced four fumbles, recovering three of them.

Western Carolina at Oklahoma odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Oklahoma 64, Western Carolina 10

Money line

There was no money line at the time of publishing but it wouldn’t be worth pursuing anyway.

Against the spread

OKLAHOMA -49.5 (-112) had a disastrous defensive showing against Tulane last weekend. Expect the Sooners to clean things up significantly against an overmatched Western Carolina +49.5 (-108) side.

The Sooners are going to work things out on both sides of the football, and Heisman trophy candidate QB Spencer Rattler will toss up some silly numbers after a shaky opener. Yes, he threw for 304 yards, but he had just one passing touchdown, one rushing score and two picks.

Over/Under

OVER 64.5 (-110) is the lean here. I think Oklahoma has a chance to get into the 60’s and potentially take care of the Over all alone. If not, Western Carolina should be able to find the end zone at least once to help out. The problem with the Catamounts is not on offense, as they have some talented pieces.
