Seahawks double-digit underdogs for Christmas Eve game against Chiefs

The Seahawks have reached the most-difficult portion of their 2022 schedule.

The Seahawks have reached the most-difficult portion of their 2022 schedule. After getting crushed by the top defense in the league last Thursday night, this week they’ll prepare to face the NFL’s No. 1 ranked offense.

On Saturday they visit the 11-3 Chiefs in Kansas City, where they will be heavy underdogs. According to USA TODAY Sports Data, the Chiefs are favored by 10 points.

It’s a fair line, as KC is once again a Super Bowl contender for the fifth straight season. They have won seven of their last eight games, beginning with a very-convincing win over the 49ers, who they managed to drop 44 points on. Their only loss in that stretch has been to Joe Burrow’s 10-4 Bengals by a field goal.

Meanwhile, the 7-7 Seahawks are going in the opposite direction. A four-game win streak in the middle of the season inspired hope, but they’ve since gone to pieces, losing four of their last five. Major factors include a reckless string of play by quarterback Geno Smith and the defense regressing back to being the worst run-stopping unit in the NFL.

These teams have only met once in the Patrick Mahomes era. The Seahawks won that game 38-31, but it was four years ago. Kansas City leads the all-times series 33-19.

Seahawks heavy favorites for Week 16 matchup with Bears

According to the latest figures at Tipico Sportsbook, Seattle is favored by 6.5 points at home.

The Seattle Seahawks still have yet to play their Week 15 game against the Los Angeles Rams, which was postponed by the NFL until Tuesday. We already have odds for their next game against the Chicago Bears, though. According to the latest figures at Tipico Sportsbook, Seattle is favored by 6.5 points at home.

The Bears also still have another game to go, as well. Tonight they will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football. Chicago has talent but is 4-9 this season and there are increasingly loud calls for head coach Matt Nagy to get fired.

Seattle leads the all-time series between these teams 11-7. Their most recent meeting was in 2018, a seven-point win for the Bears.

Panthers open 7.5-point underdogs vs. Colts for Week 16 matchup

The Colts have now lost four games in a row.

The Panthers go into Week 16 in the middle of another long and agonizing losing streak. The experts are not expecting it to end on Sunday, either. According to BetMGM, the Panthers are 7.5-point underdogs on the road against the Colts this week.

Indianapolis just got lit up by the Saints on Monday Night Football, allowing Drew Brees to complete 29 of 30 passes and throw four touchdowns en route to a 34-7 blowout. The Colts have now lost four games in a row and six of their last seven. While they don’t look particularly tough, Carolina likely has to prove they can beat another team before the odds will be in their favor again.

One positive is that history has been kind to the Panthers in this matchup. They have won five of six meetings against the Colts, including an overtime win back in 2015.
