The Washington State Cougars (6-2) and Nevada Wolf Pack (6-1) clash in a Monday showdown in Reno. Tip time at the Lawlor Events Center will be at 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Washington State vs. Nevada odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Washington State shot a season-low 36.8% in losing its last game Wednesday 77-60 to the SMU Mustangs as a 4 1/2-point underdog in Palm Springs, Calif. The Cougars have lost back-to-back games against the spread. The game in Reno will mark WSU’s first true road game.

Nevada has not played since Nov. 24 when it covered a 6-point spread in a 90-78 triumph over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Wolf Pack shot 58.9% in that game, and its season number from the floor is a robust 52.6%. At home, Nevada has thus far gone 4-0 straight up and 4-0 ATS.

Against the spread

There isn’t too much of a lean here, but what there is tilts toward Wazzou. Both of the Cougars’ losses (Nov. 15 vs. Iowa Hawkeyes, Wednesday vs. SMU) have come in games that were more competitive and winnable than what shows in the final scores.

Both of those losses were against up-tempo teams (which WSU is also). Nevada, by comparison, is a plodding basketball team. Its KenPom pace number is 340. The Cougars have played a pair of bottom-third-in-tempo teams this season; both were decisive ATS covers.

Nevada has some suspect shooting numbers, especially considering the Wolf Pack is frequently pushed into mid-range looks. And might the home five here be a bit rusty after the 7-day layoff? Last season, the Wolf Pack played 5 games on 5-plus days of rest: they went 1-4 ATS in those games.

The cushion here is just generous enough to consider a partial-unit play on WASHINGTON STATE +11.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Under is 4-1 across Washington State’s last 5 games and 3-1 in Nevada’s last 4.

Shooting analytics lean regression at both ends of the floor and helping the defenses more. Wazzou’s slate so far has tilted toward foes better on offense, so the Cougars’ defensive numbers are worth an uptick.

BACK THE  UNDER 146.5 (-105).
