Four-star SF Jasir Rencher to announce commitment on October 3

Ahead of his scheduled official visit to Seattle, four-star Jasir Rencher is set to make his commitment.

The Washington Huskies are one of five teams remaining in the hunt for four-star small forward Jasir Rencher, who is set to make his commitment on October 3. He is set to decide between LSU, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Washington.

Coach Danny Sprinkle has done an impressive job on the recruiting trail and has an opportunity to close on the talented prospect who he has built a strong relationship with. Rencher is also scheduled to take an official visit to Seattle over the weekend when coach Jedd Fisch and the football team battle Michigan in a rematch of January’s national championship.

“Coach Sprinkle was recruiting me over at Utah State, so we’ve built a relationship. [He’s] good at developing players,” Rencher told On3’s Joe Tipton.

The Huskies could have an inside track for his services, as the 6-foot-5, 195-pound prospect plays for Archbishop Riordan High School in California, which is also attended by four-star wide receiver Chris Lawson, who is committed to Fisch’s 2025 class.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine agrees, naming the Huskies as the favorites to secure his services, which would make him the first player to commit to Sprinkle’s 2025 class.

Washington set to host elite four-star 2026 safety against Michigan

Washington football will host 2026 blue-chip prospect Bralan Womack this week against Michigan as they try to earn his commitment.

The Washington Huskies’ feud with Alabama and Kalen DeBoer isn’t over yet.

Jedd Fisch’s coaching staff is set to host 2026 safety recruit Bralan Womack on a visit this week for the sold-out contest versus Michigan. Womack, the No. 2 safety recruit in the 2026 class, has visited Alabama twice in the last month, pitting current and former Washington regimes against each other on the recruiting trail.

Womack, who hails from Flowood, Mississippi, is a top 25 player overall in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He holds multiple crystal ball predictions to choose Notre Dame, but renewed interest from schools like Alabama and Washington have clouded the picture in his recruitment.

Womack told 247Sports last week that Alabama is “high on my list…I kind of know my way around campus like it’s my own place.” The Crimson Tide hosted him for their thrilling 41-34 victory over Georgia on September 28.

Washington will hope to match that atmosphere with a national championship rematch against Michigan on Saturday inside a sold-out Husky Stadium. Pulling a recruit like Womack to the Pacific Northwest would be a significant win for Fisch and the Huskies, who are currently ranked No. 18 in the country in the 2025 class by 247Sports.

Washington has only two commits in 2026 – kicker CJ Wallace and four-star running back Ansu Sanoe.

2026 Washington QB target Helaman Casuga announces top 3

The Washington Huskies are one of three schools remaining in the race for 2026 QB Helaman Casuga.

Four-star quarterback Helaman Casuga is down to three schools – Washington, Texas A&M, and USC.

Casuga previously announced that his commitment to one of those three options will come on Thursday, October 17, a date Huskies fans will now have circled as Jedd Fisch and company search for their 2026 quarterback commitment.

Washington has already struck out on Dia Bell (Texas), Brady Smigiel (Florida State), Jaden O’Neal (Oklahoma), Jonas Williams (Oregon), and Troy Huhn (Penn State) in the 2026 class as the coaching staff has taken a wide-ranging approach to sending out offers. But Casuga, ranked as the No. 13 quarterback in the country in 2026 by the 247Sports Composite, is the second-highest recruit remaining on the Huskies’ board.

The first is No. 2 quarterback Ryder Lyons, who is widely expected to choose USC. That means Casuga’s decision could be good news for Washington in a few different scenarios: either they lock in a 2026 quarterback, or Casuga picks USC, and Washington potentially gets back in the mix for Lyons.

However, Texas A&M is rumored to be the current leader for his services.

A star at Corner Canyon High School in Utah, the alma mater of Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart, Casuga’s potential commitment to the Huskies would be their third in the 2026 class.

Washington commit Vander Ploog had a monster performance against Segerstrom High School

Washington Huskies commit Vander Ploog put up stellar numbers against Segerstrom High School.

After his most recent performance against Segerstrom High School, four-star Washington Huskies tight end commit Vander Ploog looks like he might be ready to join Jedd Fisch’s team before its next game against the Michigan Wolverines.

Ploog put together an exceptional 12-catch, 190-yard, 4-touchdown performance in a 42-10 win for Troy High School and showed off all the reasons that tight ends coach Jordan Paopao made him a priority on the recruiting trail.

At 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds, Ploog has an elite frame for his position and also possesses impressive athleticism that allows him to line up all over the formation and make plays after the catch. He’s an adequate route runner who does a great job of tracking the ball and should have an opportunity to play early when he arrives in Seattle.

His big game also shows why the Huskies need to do everything in their power to hold onto his commitment, as schools like Alabama and Oregon have taken an interest in his services in recent weeks.

Ploog took an unofficial visit to Washington for the team’s Big Ten opener against Northwestern, and combined with four-star commit Baron Naone, could become an exciting pass catcher on Montlake in short order.

No. 2 2025 Washington prospect names Huskies to top 5

The No. 2 basketball prospect in Washington named Danny Sprinkle’s Huskies in his top 5.

In his first season with the Washington Huskies, coach Danny Sprinkle is trying to revitalize the team’s recruiting prowess as it moves into the Big Ten.

For Husky fans, that will always start in the state of Washington. After losing the top player in the state, guard Jaylen Petty, to New Mexico, Sprinkle’s coaching staff received some good news from Kaden Powers, the No. 2 player in Washington.

A 6-foot-5, 185-pound combo guard from Rainier Beach High School, Powers announced his top five schools on Tuesday, placing the Huskies alongside their Week Five football opponent, Rutgers, as well as Seattle University, James Madison, and Montana.

On3 has Powers ranked as the No. 10 combo guard in the 2025 cycle, and he could be a promising long-term addition to Sprinkle’s roster if he chooses the Huskies. He has been a late riser in the class and appears to be a developmental take, but his upside as a scorer is an exciting prospect for Washington’s coaching staff.

Four-Star Washington target Ladarian Clardy commits to Ole Miss

The Huskies lost out to Ole Miss on four-star safety Ladarian Clardy when he committed on Saturday.

The Washington Huskies and head coach Jedd Fisch took an unfortunate but not unexpected loss on the recruiting trail on Saturday after defensive back Ladarian Clardy committed to Ole Miss. Clardy was a top target for the coaching staff and would have been a transformative player in the secondary, even as a freshman.

“It’s a dream come true. All my life, this is what I’ve been grinding for. It means so much to commit to an SEC program. It’s a dream come true,” Clardy told the Pensacola News Journal. “I just love Ole Miss – everything about them. It just felt like it was another home. Lane Kiffin, he’s my guy. The fans, the atmosphere, everything, it’s good. … They’ve got the No. 1 defense in college right now. So why not? I’m a DB, so why not go?”

The Huskies could have used his services as they could lose several players in the backend of the defense after this season concludes.

Clardy offered plenty of upside with his level of athleticism and twitch, but the team must now pivot to other defensive targets to fill up the rest of the class. However, Clardy’s commitment to Ole Miss may not be the end of his recruitment, expect a battle up until signing day as Clardy has signaled excitement about a recent offer from LSU, calling the Tigers his “dream school.”

For the Huskies, it does strike a blow to their recruiting class, but it is nothing that Fisch and his staff can’t handle. The team currently sits at No. 19 in the country for the 2025 class, an impressive feat considering where the program was after Kalen DeBoer departed.

Fisch and company still have plenty of time to move that ranking up as early signing day in December continues to approach.

With future defensive stars Zaydrius Rainey-Sale and Jonathan Epperson committed, the team should be in great shape despite Clardy deciding to stay closer to home.

It will be key to have younger players move into larger roles next season, as veterans Cameron Broussard, Ephesians Prysock, and Carson Bruener could all be moving on in 2025.

The Huskies will take on Northwestern on Saturday as they look to get back on track after a devastating loss in the Apple Cup.

Washington basketball misses out on top 2025 in-state prospect

The Washington Huskies lost the No. 1 in-state prospect in the 2025 class to New Mexico.

Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies have lost their first high-profile recruiting battle.

2025 point guard Jaylen Petty, a point guard from nearby Auburn, Washington, committed to New Mexico on Friday over Washington, Stanford, and Santa Barbara. Petty is ranked as the No. 1 player in Washington, according to 247Sports, and sits inside On3’s top 150 players in the country.

The Huskies have two talented combo guards – Zoom Diallo and Jase Butler, both four-star recruits – set to join the roster this season, which may have influenced Petty’s decision. Three of the five point guards Washington has offered in the 2025 class are now committed, as Petty joins Keyshuan Tillery (Cincinnati) and Semetri Carr (California).

At 6-foot and 165 pounds, Petty has been a scoring machine at Auburn, reaching the 1,000-point mark in just 45 career games across his sophomore and junior seasons. He is just the seventh player at Auburn High School to hit that mark in the last 25 years.

Petty joins a New Mexico squad led by head coach Richard Pitino, the son of former Louisville and current St. John’s head coach Rick Pitino. The Lobos made last season’s NCAA tournament but lost in the first round to Clemson.

Four-star Washington OL commit to visit top programs

Washington has a difficult battle on its hands to retain four-star tackle Zac Stascausky.

Washington Huskies commit Zac Stascausky has seen a miraculous rise over the summer. The 6-foot-6, 275-pound offensive tackle committed to Minnesota in June but quickly flipped to Washington after visiting Jedd Fisch and his coaching staff during the “Luau At The Lake” at the end of July.

Then, Stascausky’s stock shot into the stratosphere. He was upgraded to a four-star prospect by 247Sports just a few weeks into his senior season, and then he received offers from Georgia and Oregon.

Now, Fisch and offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll will have a battle on their hands to retain Stascausky’s services. The product of Central Catholic High School told Andrew Nemec on ESPN’s 1080 The Fan that he plans to visit both schools before signing day, but they aren’t at the top of his list right now.

“While they’re both big offers, just because it’s Oregon and just because it’s Georgia doesn’t mean they jump to my No. 1,” Stascausky told Nemec. “Washington is still my school, I still plan on going there. I’ll have to look at these other schools and take an official [visit] to Georgia and probably take an official to Oregon, but right now it’s still Washington.”

He added that he hasn’t set official visit dates yet with either school but went on to discuss how Fisch’s coaching staff made a lasting impression on him, and he was very complimentary of what the Huskies are building.

“They do a really good job of showing you everything as it is, and it doesn’t feel fake,” Stascausky continued. “When they’re telling you they’re going to develop and they play young players, and they’re telling you about their culture and how they do things, it doesn’t feel like somebody’s fabricating things you’re not going to see in two years when you’re committed and going to the school.”

Four-star S Ladarian Clardy could play early in talented Washington secondary

The Washington Huskies coaching staff is anxiously awaiting the commitment of safety Ladarian Clardy, who could transform the secondary as a freshman.

Led by head coach Jedd Fisch, the Washington Huskies have scored some in-season commitments at the start of the year, most recently from North Dakota offensive lineman Jack Shaffer, who flipped his pledge from Iowa State.

Defensive coordinator Steve Belichick and Washington’s entire staff have long been interested in four-star safety Ladarian Clardy, who will announce his commitment on Saturday, September 21.

Clardy, a product of Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida, and the nation’s No. 15 safety according to 247Sports, is being pursued by high-power programs Ole Miss, Florida State, and LSU ahead of his decision.

Like with four-star wide receiver Andrew Marsh, Washington will need a major push to the finish as the staff looks to earn a pledge from the 5-foot-10, 175-pound defensive back.

The Huskies are hoping that if Clardy commits, he can roam the backend of the defense with ease, something he has done with great success at the high school level. He is an exceptional athlete with great short-area explosiveness, and his ability to break on the ball in an instant could be a great addition to the roster.

Clardy routinely displayed his receiver background, picking off four passes as a junior and hauling in four touchdowns on offense. His ability to high-point passes and make catches through aggressive contact will serve him well on the defensive side of the ball.

As a smaller safety, Clardy has done a good job playing bigger than his size to this point, but at the college level, things may get a bit tougher for him as he adds weight to his frame.

His tackling does leave something to be desired at this point, as he doesn’t always take the best angles, and the all-or-nothing approach he tends to employ will frustrate coaches if he starts missing key tackles as the final line of defense.

Belichick could see Clardy playing the role that Sacramento State transfer Cameron Broussard has played in Washington’s non-conference slate.

Getting a player of Clardy’s athletic caliber and natural coverage ability could elevate the defense, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to why the staff will be anxiously awaiting his commitment.

Four-star LB Madden Faraimo to visit Washington’s Big Ten opener

The Washington Huskies will host one of the nation’s best linebackers during their Big Ten debut.

The Washington Huskies coaching staff has put together an impressive recruiting class in its first full year on Montlake. Jedd Fisch and co. have assembled the nation’s No. 19 class, according to 247Sports, and will have a big opportunity to add to it in the coming weeks.

Four-star linebacker Madden Faraimo announced his intentions to take an unofficial visit to Seattle when the Huskies take on Northwestern on Saturday. The nation’s No. 14 linebacker and No. 113 overall player is down to three other schools alongside Washington and is also considering Notre Dame, Texas, and USC.

He’s also set to take a visit to South Bend to see coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish before the end of September, who are the heavy favorites to secure his commitment, but his trip to check out coach Jedd Fisch’s team could be a good sign for Washington’s standing in his recruitment.

Faraimo would be a welcome addition to linebackers coach Robert Bala’s class, which holds two exciting four-star prospects in Zaydrius Rainey-Sale and Jonathan Epperson, along with high-upside three-star Donovan Robinson.

“Faraimo makes sure to make offensive players aware of just how big he is, routinely laying bone-shaking hits on receivers and punishing running backs who find gaps in the defensive line,” Huskies Wire’s Ben Glassmire said in his evaluation. “College-ready defenders are a rare commodity, and Faraimo pairs excellent instincts with a drool-worthy frame.”

If the product of JSerra Catholic High School and teammate of Washington commit Jake Flores does choose the Huskies, he would be the cherry on top of a very strong crop of incoming high schoolers and would bring Fisch’s inaugural recruiting class up to No. 17 in the country.
