NBA social media reacts to the Warriors’ losing streak after loss to Mavericks

Here’s what fans and analysts were saying on Saturday after the Warriors’ losing streak dropped to three straight with a loss to the Mavs.

In their final contest of 2023, the Golden State Warriors had no answer for Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night at Chase Center.

The Mavericks All-Star point guard torched the Warriors for 39 points on 14-of-29 shooting from the field to go along five made 3-pointers, 10 assists and eight rebounds in 38 minutes.

While Doncic nearly posted a triple-double, Golden State’s Splash Brothers were quiet. Curry led the Warriors with 25 points on 9-of-25 shooting from the field. Klay Thompson struggled, scoring three points on 1-of-11 shooting from the floor. Curry and Thompson combined to shoot for 10-of-26 from the field against the Mavericks.

Chris Paul provided a spark for the Warriors, scoring a season-high 24 points with six made 3-pointers. However, it wasn’t enough as the Warriors’ losing streak reached three with a 132-122 loss.

Following Golden State’s loss to Dallas, here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Before being crowned Western Conference champions, the Warriors had to go through the Mavericks in Game 5 at Chase Center on Thursday night. After the Warriors surged to a 25-point lead behind a fiery effort from Klay Thompson, the Mavericks stormed back to tighten the game in the fourth quarter.

However, the Warriors weathered a late run by Luka Doncic and the Mavs to punch their ticket to the Finals with a win in Game 5, 120-110.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ near comeback in Game 4 loss vs. Mavericks

After the Warriors’ near-comeback fell short in a loss to the Mavericks in Game 4, NBA Twitter chimed in with reactions.

Despite a furious fourth-quarter run by the Golden State Warriors’ bench, the Dallas Mavericks survived to avoid a sweep in the Western Conference Finals with a 119-109 win in Game 4 on Tuesday evening.

The Mavericks built a 29-point lead heading into the fourth quarter behind a barrage of 3-pointers in Game 4. The Mavs shot 46.5% from deep, hitting 20 triples against the Warriors. Eight members of the Mavs hit a 3-pointer in Game 4, with Reggie Bullock leading the way with six triples on 10 attempts from deep on Tuesday night in Dallas.

Down 29 points, Steve Kerr cleared his bench to start the final quarter. However, a lineup featuring Jordan Poole, Damion Lee, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and Nemanja Bjelica stormed back into the game in the fourth quarter, cutting the Mavericks’ advantage to only eight points.

However, Luka Doncic took over down the stretch, killing the Warriors’ chances of an improbable comeback. Doncic tallied a near triple-double with a game-high 30 points on 10-of-26 shooting from the floor with 14 boards, nine assists, two steals and two blocks in 38 minutes.

The series will now shift back to the Bay Area on Thursday for Game 5 with the Warriors holding a 3-1 lead over the Mavericks in the Western Conference finals.

After Golden State’s near comeback came to a halt in Dallas, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Tuesday night.

NBA Twitter reacts to Warriors’ cold shooting performance in low-scoring loss vs. Mavs, 99-82

After the Warriors posted a cold shooting night in a rough loss to the Mavs, NBA Twitter chimed in with different reactions. Here is a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday:

Before potentially welcoming Klay Thompson back to the rotation on Sunday at Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors set off for a two-game road swing that started with a contest against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.

To begin their quick road trip, the Warriors were cold as ice.
With Dirk Nowitzki’s No. 41 freshly hanging in the rafters on the night of his jersey retirement, the Mavs easily surged to an 11 point advantage in the first half.

In the third quarter, the Warriors came out swinging to cut into the Mavericks’ lead. However, Golden State couldn’t find the bottom of the net when it mattered most. The Mavericks outscored the Warriors 29-15 in the final frame to secure a victory on Wednesday night, 99-82.

With Steph Curry slumping, the Warriors posted their lowest-scoring performance of the season at only 82 points. The potential Most Valuable Player candidate notched just 14 points on an ugly 5-of-24 shooting from the field with nine rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes. Curry continued to struggle from deep, shooting 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Over his last two games, the seven-time All-Star is shooting 8-of-41 from the field and 2-of-19 from the 3-point line,
Outside of Curry, Andrew Wiggins (14) and Gary Payton II (11) were the only members of the Warriors to score in double-figures.

As a team, the Warriors shot a lowly 5-of-28 from long distance against the Mavs. After recording back-to-back games with 39 team assists, the Warriors only recorded 20 dimes on Wednesday in Dallas.

The Warriors won’t have to wait long to respond with the second-leg of a road back-to-back waiting on Thursday in New Orleans.

After the Warriors posted an off-shooting night in the lone star state, NBA Twitter jumped on social media with different reactions. Here is a look at what fans and analysts were saying about Curry and the Warriors on Wednesday night.

3 things to know: Mavs survive thrilling battle between Luka Doncic and Steph Curry, 134-132

Despite Steph Curry’s 57 points, the Dallas Mavericks survived the Golden State Warriors by two points behind Luka Doncic’s 42 points.

In the second part of the Golden State Warriors’ two-game “baseball” series against the Dallas Mavericks, the battle between Steph Curry and Luka Donic lived up to the hype.

Curry tallied a game-high 57 points on 19-of-31 shooting from the field in 37 minutes. The Warriors point guard caught fire from beyond the arc, drilling 11 triples on 19 attempts from beyond the arc. Curry added five assists, two rebounds and two steals against Dallas. However, it wasn’t enough.

Doncic was able to keep pace with the two-time Most Valuable Player, scoring 42 points on 12-of-23 shooting from the field, including seven 3-pointers. Doncic registered a double-double with 11 assists against the Warriors.

With the All-Star guards trading shots wire-to-wire, the contest came down to the final minutes. A missed out-of-bounds call at the baseline from Kristaps Porzingis led to a Doncic 3-pointer with 44.5 seconds remaining to give Dallas a seven-point lead. Although Curry was able to answer with a triple of his own, the Mavericks were able to hold on late for a two-point victory after a dagger 3-pointer from Maxi Kleber, 134-132.

Slow Start

Throughout the year, the Warriors have struggled to stay consistent in the first quarter of contests. In Dallas on Saturday, the Warriors didn’t answer the opening quarter horn. Through the first seven minutes, the Warriors fell down 18-2 against the Mavericks.

Although the Warriors were able to cut the Mavs’ lead to only four points by the start of the second quarter, slow starts have continued to plague Golden State throughout the young season.

Kent Bazemore

Kent Bazemore logged an impressive performance off the bench on Saturday night, scoring a season-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. The veteran guard provided a much-needed spark off the bench for Steve Kerr, adding three boards, an assists and a steal in 23 minutes. Bazemore has tallied double figures in scoring in two of the last three games for the Warriors.

Even with a fully healthy rotation, the Warriors could use a consistent scoring threat off the bench. Bazemore could be developing into the answer.

Draymond Green

Although he only scored two points, Draymond Green made his presence felt on Saturday night. On top of dishing out 15 assists for the second consecutive game, the former Defensive Player of the Year added six boards, six steals and four blocks in 37 minutes.

As long as James Wiseman, Kevon Looney and Eric Paschall deal with injuries, Kerr will need to lean on Green for his defense and playmaking in Golden State’s thin frontcourt.

After recording a blowout victory in Dallas on Thursday, the Warriors will run it back against the Mavs on Saturday. Here’s everything you need to know before tipoff.

Despite injuries to James Wiseman, Kevon Looney and Eric Paschall, the limited lineup of only nine active players produced one of the Golden State Warriors’ top efforts of the season in a blowout 147-116 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night.

With seven different members of the Warriors scoring in double-figures, Kelly Oubre Jr. led the way with an explosive career-high 40 points on 14-of-21 shooting from the field in 36 minutes against Luka Doncic and the Mavs. Steph Curry followed Oubre Jr. with another solid effort, scoring 28 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field with six assists. While Oubre and Curry handled the scoring, Draymond Green helped move the ball, dishing 15 of Golden State’s 37 assists in Dallas.

As the second leg of a two-contest “baseball series” in Texas is slated for Saturday, the Warriors won’t have to wait long to run it back against the Mavericks.

Before the sports world shifts attention to the big game in Tampa Bay on Sunday, here is how to watch or stream the contest and everything else you need to know about the matchup between Golden State and Dallas on Saturday.

3 things to know: No bigs, no problem in Dallas, Kelly Oubre Jr. explodes for 40 points to lead Warriors over Mavs, 147-116

After a loss to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, the cards quickly started to stack against the Golden State Warriors leading up to the open of a four-game Texas road trip. With James Wiseman already missing time due to a sprained wrist, Kevon Looney suffered a sprained ankle sidelining him for the road swing.

Adding to Golden State’s already injury-riddled frontcourt, Eric Paschall was ruled out against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday with a sore right knee. However, with only nine active players, the Golden State Warriors recorded one of their top performances of the season against the Mavs.

Steph Curry and Kelly Oubre Jr. combined from 68 points en route to a blowout 147-116 victory over Luka Doncic and the Mavericks. As seven different players in Steve Kerr’s thin rotation notched double-figures in scoring, the Warriors moved the ball around the court, recording 37 assists.

The Warriors will run it back against the Mavericks on Sunday for the second contest of a two-game “baseball series.”
