Although there are still 17 games left on the calendar for the Golden State Warriors, Steve Kerr has been spending time preparing for next season. While the NBA is on hold until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kerr has been busy with research for the upcoming free-agent and draft class.
When Kerr isn’t studying hoops during quarantine, he’s surfing social media. Golden State’s coach recently compared his playing defense to a humorous viral video on Twitter.

This was me playing defense in the NBA. https://t.co/86uywHZ6pp

The Arizona product was known for his shooting over his defense during his 15-year playing career. Kerr averaged 6.0 points per game on 47.9% shooting from the field and 45.4% from beyond the arc. However, as a coach, Kerr’s defense has been a critical factor during the Warriors’ championship runs.
With Kerr at the helm, Golden State has ranked in the top-10 of NBA defensive rating in four seasons. Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Andrew Bogut all earned NBA All-Defensive Team nods with Kerr roaming the sidelines.
As long as Kerr continues to coach the Warriors to the NBA Finals, he won’t have to worry about defense from his playing days.
