Warriors at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 109, Warriors 105

Moneyline

The Warriors have been very good on the road. They are 18-13 and have won 10 of their last 12 on the road.

The T-wolves are 24-9 at home but have lost 3 of their last 5 home games. They are 27-17 against teams with winning records while Golden State is 16-25 against winning teams.

You can bet the T-wolves -140 but with only a 2.5-point spread, you can get slightly better odds on an ATS wager.

PASS.

Against the spread

Only 1 of the Wolves’ last 16 wins has been by fewer than 3 points while the Warriors’ last 9 losses have been by 3 points or more.

Golden State, though, does have the best ATS road record in the league at 22-10. They are 11-6 ATS as road dogs.

The T-wolves are 12-15-2 ATS as home favorites, but considering the Warriors’ struggles against teams with winning records and the fact the T-wolves have won only once in their last 16 victories by fewer than 3 points, it’s hard to pick the Warriors to cover.

BET TIMBERWOLVES -2.5 (-105).

Over/Under

The total in their 2 previous meetings were 226 and 205.

The T-wolves have had 4 of their last 5 games stay below 220 total points while 4 straight games for the Warriors have had 220 or more.

Minnesota has held opponents to 104 or fewer points in 4 of their last 5.

BET UNDER 219.5 (-105).

Analyzing Wednesday’s Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (26-24) battle the Minnesota Timberwolves (27-26) Wednesday. Tip from Target Center is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Warriors vs. Timberwolves odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Warriors are coming off a 128-120 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder, covering as 5-point road favorites. They are 2-2 against the spread (ATS) over their last 4 games and 6-3 ATS over their last 9, improving to 24-25-1 ATS on the season. Golden State is led by 2-time MVP G Stephen Curry, who is averaging 29.7 points per game.

The Timberwolves are coming off a 118-111 home loss to the Sacramento Kings, failing to cover as a 1-point underdog. Minnesota is 6-2 ATS over its last 8 games and 25-28 ATS on the season. It is led in scoring by G Anthony Edwards, who is averaging 24.9 points per game.

Warriors at Timberwolves picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 119, Warriors 116

Moneyline

SPRINKLE TIMBERWOLVES (+140).

The Warriors have well-documented struggles on the road this season. They have the 3rd worst road record in the Association (6-18) while Minnesota is 18-11 at home.

There is some value in a partial-unit play on the TIMBERWOLVES (+140).

Against the spread

BET TIMBERWOLVES +3.5 (-105).

Minnesota plus the points is my preferred way to play this game. The Warriors are 8-16 ATS on the road this season while Minnesota is 15-14 ATS at home.

Golden State’s weakness is defensive efficiency, ranking 12th in the NBA in opponents’ field-goal percentage (46.9%) and 20th in opponents’ 3-point field goal percentage (36.3%).

The Wolves are 4th in the NBA in field-goal percentage (49.2%) and should also abuse the Warriors on the glass. Make sure Gobert is playing prior to playing this, but if he’s active, his dominance on the glass should help them get enough extra opportunities to cover.

Back TIMBERWOLVES +3.5 (-105).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 238.5 (-115).

The Warriors rank first in pace while the Wolves are 7th. However, Minnesota is just 24-29 O/U this season and will be down one of its most efficient scorers with Towns sidelined.

The Timberwolves have gone Under in 4 straight games and are 3-7 O/U in their last 10, while the Warriors are 3-2-1 O/U in their last 6.

Considering the trends, back the UNDER 238.5 (-115).

Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (43-18) visit Target Center Tuesday to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves (33-29). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Timberwolves odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Warriors are coming off an embarrassing 107-101 loss as 3.5-point home favorites to the Dallas Mavericks Sunday. Leading 93-74 with 9:59 to go, Golden State was outscored 26-1 over the next eight-plus minutes in the loss.

Golden State is just 2-7-1 against the spread (ATS) over its last 10 games, and 2-5 straight up (SU) over its last seven as the absence of four-time All-Star PF Draymond Green looms large. Overall, Golden State is 30-27-4 ATS.

Minnesota is 31-29-2 ATS, coming off a 127-122 road win at Cleveland Monday, covering as a 3.5-point favorite. The Timberwolves, 5-4-1 ATS over their last 10 games, are 15-14-1 ATS at home. Minnesota’s 113.3 points per game ranks sixth in the NBA.

Minnesota is 2-1 against Golden State this season, 1-1 without Green. The Timberwolves won 119-99 at home as a 5-point favorite Jan. 16. Golden State claimed a 124-115 home victory as a 6.5-point fav Jan. 27.

Warriors at Timberwolves odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 118, Warriors 115

Money line

BET TIMBERWOLVES (+102).

The Warriors still have the best defensive rating in the NBA, but when it comes to their play in February, they dropped out of the top half of the league, ranking 16th in defensive rating.

Green’s absence has been increasingly difficult for Golden State, and the size that Minnesota has should be key a difference with him out.

C Karl-Anthony Towns (6-11), PF Jaden McDaniels (6-9) and PF Jarred Vanderbilt (6-9) are all as tall as or taller than Warriors starting C Kevon Looney (6-9). The Wolves’ size advantage will give them the edge.

Beside the Warriors being 2-5 SU over the last seven games, they’re 1-6 ATS over that stretch. They haven’t been playing well, and the Timberwolves, who are 18-12 at home, should come out on top.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

PASS.

The Wolves haven’t had a one-point loss all season, so I don’t find the value in the more expensive 1.5-point spread.

Over/Under

LEAN to the OVER 232.5 (-112).

Minnesota is the best team Over team in the NBA with an O/U of 38-24. The Wolves play with the third-highest pace in the NBA as well.

While the Warriors are just 25-34-2 O/U, they are 4-1-1 O/U in their last six games, and as their defense slips, they’ve seen more totals go Over the projected number.

With the stardom on display in two-time MVP PG Stephen Curry for Golden State and Towns and SF Anthony Edwards for Minnesota, OVER 232.5 (-112) is the better play here.

Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (31-11) travel to Target Center Sunday to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves (20-22). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Timberwolves odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

After an electric start to the season, the Warriors have lost 4 of their last 6. This will also be their last of a four-game road trip that they’re 1-2 on.

Despite recent struggles, the Warriors have still been extremely profitable to bet on, 24-16-2 ATS. The Wolves are also among the 13 teams that are covering at over a 50% clip, 22-20 ATS.

They’re entering as the far healthier side, which has them listed as home favorites – a situation they’re 5-7 ATS in.

Warriors at Timberwolves odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Timberwolves 116, Warriors 104

Money line

PASS on the money line.

The Warriors are without too many key players to assume they’ll pull off the road upset. For the sake of value on the Timberwolves, I’d prefer to bet the spread.

Against the spread

BET on the TIMBERWOLVES -4.5 (-112).

The Warriors are just too injured at the moment.

They’re the significantly better team at full strength, but the Warriors will be down three-time All-Star and DPOY candidate Draymond Green and MVP candidate Stephen Curry. It’s just too much to overcome.

The Wolves, on the other hand, have won 4 of their last 6. With defensive-minded Patrick Beverley likely going to be on Jordan Poole, one of the Warriors’ premier scorers, I’ll take the Wolves and the points.

The Warriors are 3-5 without Green on the court this season.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 215.5 (-115).

The Warriors’ key defensive-minded players will be sidelined.

Payton II will be playing limited minutes it appears if he does take the court. Without Payton II or Green, Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards should be able to have their way.

That said, the Dubs’ league-best defense won’t be as dominant. The Wolves’ Over has also hit in 3 of their last 4. The Warriors’ Over has hit in 2 of their last 3 and in 5 of their last 10.

Warriors 121, Timberwolves 110

Money line (ML)

The Warriors (-200) will cost you two times per potential return against the Timberwolves (+170). While GSW won both games of the back-to-back set in San Francisco Jan. 25-27 by an average of 17.0 PPG, look to the spread instead.

Against the spread (ATS)

The WARRIORS -5.5 (-110) won 130-108 at home against the Timberwolves +5 (-110) by a 130-108 score Jan. 25, and they rolled to a 123-111 win Jan. 27. Golden State is 4-1 ATS across the past five meetings overall.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 235.5 (-110) is the play here, hitting in 27 of the past 39 meetings overall and 16-5 in the past 21 meetings in the Twin Cities. The trends also point to the Under due to Golden State going 14-5 across the past 19 on the road, too.
