The Utah Jazz (0-1) welcome the Golden State Warriors (1-0) to Delta Center Friday. Tip-off is set for 9:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Warriors vs. Jazz odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Warriors swept 4-0 last season

The Warriors, who traded G Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks in July, opened their season with a dominant 140-104 victory at the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday, covering as 7.5-point favorites with the Over (222.5) hitting. They poured in 20 triples — out of 48 attempts — for a 41.7% 3-point shooting percentage. G Buddy Hield led the Warriors with 22 points, including five 3’s.

The Jazz, who went 3-2 straight up and 3-2 against the spread (ATS) during the preseason, lost in a heartbreaker to the Memphis Grizzlies 126-124 Wednesday, covering by the hook as 2.5-point home underdogs. F Lauri Markkanen dropped a game-high 35 points, hitting 9-for-15 from the field, 4-for-7 behind the 3-point line and 13 of 14 free throws. Utah — which went just 2-14 over their last 16 games to close the last regular season — had 7 players score double figures in the loss to Memphis.

Warriors at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 121, Jazz 115

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no real rationale here to take the spread or the moneyline over the other.

Against the spread

BET WARRIORS -2.5 (-115).

The Warriors have many of the same key weapons from last season and were among the best road teams in the league a year ago. They were the second-best road ATS team, posting a 27-15 ATS record away from home. Golden State had a massive 36-point road win in its first game as well.

The Jazz played a close battle in their opener but had just 14 turnovers and shot 47.1% from the field. They gave up 126 points on 47.3% shooting to Memphis, and Golden State should have a more competent offense.

BACK WARRIORS -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under

BET OVER 233.5 (-105).

Both teams can score, which they proved that in their season-opening games Wednesday. The Warriors blasted the Trail Blazers, and while they held Portland to just 104 points, the Trail Blazers don’t have an efficient offense, shooting 39.1% from the field and 23.5% from deep.

The Jazz will make a weaker Warriors defense pay far more than that. In the 4 games between these teams last season, the total was 3-1 O/U. Expect both teams to stay hot from behind the arc. TAKE OVER 233.5 (-105).

Warriors at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 115, Warriors 109

Moneyline

With the Jazz (-320) being heavy favorites, just AVOID the moneyline. Taking Utah to win straight up isn’t advised considering the current odds for the Jazz to defeat the Warriors.

Against the spread

WARRIORS +7.5 (-105) is where I’m leaning despite Curry, Green, and Wiggins being inactive. The Warriors still have capable scorers in G Jordan Poole and G Klay Thompson that can keep this game closer than some expect.

The Warriors are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS loss and are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings with the Jazz in Utah.

Over/Under

Even though most of the trends point toward the Over being the ideal choice in this game, UNDER 234.5 (-110) is where I’m leaning. This number feels a bit high with the Warriors being down 3 of their 5 starters.

The Warriors have hit the Under in 6 of their last 7 games following an ATS loss.

Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (41-13) head to Salt Lake City Wednesday to play the Utah Jazz (33-21). The tip-off at Vivint Smart Home Arena is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Warriors at Jazz odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Golden State has won nine consecutive games (4-3-2 against the spread (ATS) with the latest being a 110-98 victory over the Thunder, pushing as 12-point road underdogs in OKC.

Utah is on a 3-game winning streak (2-1 ATS) with victories over the Nuggets, Nets and Knicks. Over the past two weeks, the Jazz are 3-3 straight up (SU) and 2-4 ATS with a minus-2.3 ATS margin, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

The Warriors have won four straight versus the Jazz (3-0-1 ATS) including both meetings earlier this season (123-116 New Year’s Day and 94-92 Jan. 23).

Warriors at Jazz odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 118, Jazz 113

Money line

“LEAN” to the WARRIORS (+102) only because I prefer to take the points with Golden State.

Either way, the Warriors are the right side because they are playing much better and play better versus quality competition.

For instance, Golden State is 11-6 SU versus teams in the top-10 of efficiency differential (per CTG). The Warriors have the best adjusted net rating versus top-10 teams (plus-4.6), per CTG.

On the other hand, Utah is 6-9 SU versus top-10 teams with a minus-2.5 ATS margin, per CTG. The ATS margin applies to this game since it’s priced as a coin-flip.

Against the spread

BET the WARRIORS +1.5 (-108) for 1 unit based on the aforementioned rationale and since this is a Pros vs. Joe’s game with the “wiseguys” on Golden State.

According to Pregame.com, more than 60% of the cash is on the Warriors, but nearly 70% of the bets placed are on the Jazz. Typically, in sports betting, it’s profitable to follow the money – especially when it’s fading the public.

Furthermore, Golden State is 15-7-1 ATS versus teams with a winning record (8-5 ATS on the road in those spots) and Utah is 6-15-1 ATS versus winning teams (3-9 ATS at home in those spots).

For the record, the WARRIORS +1.5 (-108) is my preferred bet in this contest.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 223.5 (-115) for a quarter-unit because I’m more comfortable with betting on the Warriors. Also, a majority of the market is betting the Over, and I hate following the herd in sports betting.

But, Golden State is 6-1 O/U in their last seven as underdogs, and the Over has cashed in eight of the past nine Warriors-Jazz meetings. Plus Utah’s defense has been mediocre since Gobert has been sidelined with a leg injury.

Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Golden State Warriors (27-7) travel to Salt Lake City Saturday for a 9 p.m. ET game against the Utah Jazz (26-9) at the Vivint Smart Home Arena. Below, we look at the Warriors vs. Jazz odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Golden State had its three-game winning streak snapped Tuesday with an 89-86 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The second of the back-to-back between the Warriors-Nuggets was canceled due to a COVID outbreak within Denver.

Over the past two weeks, the Warriors are 3-2 straight-up (SU), 3-2 ATS, and 3-2 O/U with the 16th-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-0.2 points per 100 possessions, according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Utah enters on a six-game winning streak (1-1-4 ATS and 3-3 O/U) with the latest being a 120-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on New Year’s Eve but failed to cover as 12.5-point home favorites.

The Jazz have the third-best non-garbage time net rating over the past two weeks at plus-8.8 points per 100 possessions (CTG).

Golden State won and covered two of three meetings with Utah last season and the Over cashed in all three Warriors-Jazz games.

Warriors at Jazz odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 117, Warriors 110

Money line

PASS even though I think this is a trap game for the Warriors (+160) because the Jazz (-200) is just too pricey considering how well Golden State has played against the cream of the crop in the NBA.

For instance, the Warriors is 7-2 SU vs. teams in the top-10 of adjusted net rating with by far the best non-garbage time net rating at plus-10.5 points per 100 possessions (CTG). The next closest team (Phoenix Suns) has a plus-3.5 points per 100 possessions adjusted net rating.

Against the spread

BET the JAZZ -4.5 (-120) because there’s a notable line freeze in the betting market and this feels like a trap game for the Warriors +4.5 (-105). First of all, all the situational trends point towards Golden State here.

But, according to Pregame.com and the Yahoo! Sports app, an overwhelming majority of the market is betting Golden State and the line hasn’t budged off the opener.

The JAZZ -4.5 (-120) feels too big in the first place considering the Warriors have the best record in the NBA. But, it feels even fishier because all the money is coming in on Golden State yet this line isn’t moving.

Also, Utah’s non-garbage time net rating is actually 2.2 points per 100 possessions better than Golden State (CTG) and the Jazz are actually better than their record indicates. In fact, Utah ranks 26th in win differential at minus-2.4, meaning the Jazz have two fewer wins than they should.

Between Utah being the best team in the league in non-garbage time net rating and this suspect line movement, it’s JAZZ -4.5 (-120) or pass for me.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 223.5 (-110) for a half unit because the Over has cashed in seven straight Warriors-Jazz meetings and the Over has cashed in Golden State’s past four games vs. teams with a winning record.

On top of that, Utah is 13-7 O/U as a home favorite and there’s been a sharp line move towards the Over as the Warriors-Jazz total opened at 222.5 and has been steamed up to the current number.

That said, the Jazz laying the points is my favorite wager in this contest.

Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Golden State Warriors (8-7) are in Salt Lake City Saturday for a 9 p.m. ET game at the Utah Jazz (11-4) in the Vivint Smart Home Arena. Below, we analyze the Warriors-Jazz NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Golden State has been up and down over the past couple of weeks, going 3-3 (3-3 against the spread) since Jan. 10. The Warriors were upset as 5-point home favorites by the New York Knicks their last time out in a game marred by sketchy officiating.

PF Draymond Green was tossed after receiving his second technical foul when he yelled at teammate rookie C James Wiseman, but the official mistakenly thought Green’s comment was directed at him. The league rescinded the technical from his record after the game.

Golden State’s loss to New York is hard to take seriously since it was terribly officiated, and the Warriors won their previous two games against the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Jazz are rolling right now, winning seven straight and covering all seven, including back-to-back double-digit home wins over the New Orleans Pelicans coming into Saturday.

Utah is hooping on both sides of the court through the first month of the season: The Jazz are fifth in effective field goal percentage and seventh in offensive rating while being second in opponent’s eFG% and sixth in defensive rating.

Utah was 4-0 last season (2-2 ATS) vs. the Warriors but Stephen Curry didn’t play in any of those games.

Warriors at Jazz: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jazz 116, Warriors 112

Money line (ML)

PASS with a lean on Warriors (+230) since I plan on taking Golden State to cover the spread, but the Jazz (-275) have won four straight at home. So I am not crazy about betting against Utah.

Against the spread (ATS)

Golden State can put up a good defense against what Utah does well (3-point shooting). The Jazz -7.5 (-110) has the second-best 3-point shooting percentage in the Association, and while the Warriors +7.5 (-110) are a mediocre 15th in defensive rating and opponent’s 3-point percentage, they are sixth in contesting 3-point shots.

Furthermore, Golden State’s two starting wings—SFs Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre—should be able to make life difficult for Utah’s SG Donovan Mitchell and SF Bojan Bogdanović.

Also, perhaps there’s some value on Golden State for the loss to a feisty New York team. The ridiculousness of the officiating in that game cannot be overstated. I’ll TAKE WARRIORS +7.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS with a lean on Over 227.5 (-115). I agree with BetMGM’s projected total, but there’s a better chance for hot shooting than an offensive stinker or defensive slugfest from these teams.
