Tennessee redshirt junior golfer Lance Simpson finished tied for third in the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. The three-day event concluded Sunday at Tennessee National Golf Club in Loudon, Tennessee.
Tennessee also finished third in team standings. Tennessee (-4) and South Carolina finished behind LSU (-23) and Ole Miss (-21).
Simpson finished at -6 as he shot 204 over three rounds. Freshman Jackson Herrington finished in an eighth-place tie (-4). Pearce Lewin, making his debut for the Vols, finished tied for 25th (+1), competing as an individual. Bruce Murphy and Evan Woosley-Reed tied for 33rd (+4), while Josh Hill (+8) finished tied for 57th and rounded out Tennessee’s team scoring.
Other Vols’ individuals who competed in the tournament included: Laurent Desmarchais, who also finished tied for 57th; Christian Pardue (+11); Jean-Philippe Parr (+12) and Kai Komulainen (+19).
